About

Danny Charlton wants to be a poker star. The only problem is he doesn't have a clue how to play the game. Worse still, he hasn't got the heart to learn...

In Ace King, a traditional point-and-click adventure game in the style of the later Leisure Suit Larry titles, you play as Danny, as he receives an invitation to play in the infamous Mann Steak tournament at the Double Down casino in Las Vegas.

But, as his fellow competitors start to go missing, Danny soon discovers that it's going to take more than just a good hand to achieve victory.

This game is my first attempt at game design of any kind. My email address is linked in the readme file. If you find any bugs when playing, I would be most grateful if you let me know.

Known Bugs
Danny can get stuck on steps outside the Millstone when trying to go back down. [Fixed in V1.4].

Gui issues in menu and hotel room. [Fixed in V1.4.1].

Some people may find the sex references a tad rude and after a while they also just happen too often.
The puzzles at times are a little confusing and will burn up your spare time.

This is a great game. I'd say some of the jokes get a bit rude and sexual, but nonetheless the plot is there and many interesting locations. The game is long and can entertain for hours. Maybe some of the puzzles are a bit tricky here and there. Dedicating good time to this game is essential--but also worth it. I truly commend the author and hope for more titles or sequels.

There are not too many feature length AGS games out there, but I'm pleased to say this is one of them. It may not be the best of the bunch, but I certainly found it very endearing.

I very much enjoyed the playable character of Danny, who likes to drink and play poker, but is under pressure to become a responsible adult like his friends have become.

On the gaming side, I think the puzzles were just right. The introduction is perhaps a little inconsistent with later gameplay, and you could say graphics need some improvement. One of my favourite elements of the game is the innuendo. Overall I find this is to be a well-rounded darn-good adventure.

This was a fun game that put me in mind of the old classic adventure games.
