The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Much like the remake of Case 1, Case 2 gets a better presentation. Updated graphics, full voice acting, and extended story make this an "official" version in the series storyline.

AGS Panel Review

"This remake lives up to the quality Grundislav has been turning out since Ben Jordan Case 4: Better visuals, greatly improved puzzle design and a wonderful musical score that compliments the competent, if sometimes fuzzy, voice acting. The only real drawback is the rather short length of the game, though when you consider it has been extended and improved greatly over the original, Case 2 Deluxe is a gem that fits in the crown of the Ben Jordan series."

7 people commented on this game (newest first):

Apart from some hard puzzles the game is well worth playing, especially if you are Ben Jordan fan. Remarkable voice acting!

Very fun BJ installment. Case 2 is rich in great humor and puzzle-solving delights in particular. I also immensely enjoyed the grotesque setting which mixes western, post-cataclysmic wasteland, freak show, and of course a paranormal investigation with a sunken Spanish galleon at its climax. Wonderful music and solid voice-acting really help it all work together.

What I didn't like:

- lacks the more cinematic cutscenes that other BJ games have - especially the opening is really modest

- both Annie as well as her house are boring and unlikable - the complete opposite of all other locations and characters

- the sunken galleon appearing in this kind of setting came off a bit as a joke, and I'm not sure if that was completely intentional.

However, the weakest spots of the game are connected to Bombay Beach:

- the unclear walking paths - you should be given more direction where you can go

- the song-writing puzzle - which requires the player to somehow guess he has to look the second time at every possible object in the neighborhood

Thankfully, the game offers a really solid amount of content, so the good stuff totally overweighs these few less enjoyable bits

It's Ben Jordan! It's deluxe! If you are reading this you have probably played the first game, so you'll know what to expect!

So at this moment there are 7 games all to high standard, I eagerly wait to see one more Ben Jordan game ;)

A wonderful remake of the second case, which I considered to be the weakest entry in the franchise. The visuals have been spruced up, the puzzles are much more logical and enjoyable and the music in particular was awesome. Particularly the musical piece when you're at Radley's House. Voice acting was also great. The length is short, but it's noticeably longer than Case 1 Deluxe. I can't criticise it too much though. This is a great free game and I recommend it to anyone.

Another great game that suits the series... Don't play the original, play this one, it is way better in any aspect. Oh, and the music is brilliant, really atmospheric...

Finished ;) Until now the case 2 wasn't my favourite sequel, but it has changed. The game is great, puzzles are smart, audiovisual aspect is perfect. I love the voiceacting of all of you especialy the captain ghost was perfect. Looking forward to Case 8.
