About this game

Miami is a rough town: Crime, drugs, humidity... but for an enterprising male prostitute, all that matters is satisfying the clients and getting paid. The life isn't as glamorous as it seems, though, as you'll soon find out by guiding our man through one crazy night. This game was originally created for The Independent Gaming Source's Adult/Educational Competition, which won 2nd place. Please note that this game is intended for mature audiences (17 years or older).

"An amusing night in the pants of a male escort, you're bound to run into some weird puzzles (and weirder people). The worst that can be said is that there just isn't very much to do in the game and the subject matter may turn away younger gamers or people with good taste. If you're like the rest of us, though, you'll definitely give it a play!"

'Back Door Man' is fantastic. The attention to detail--in every department--really moves me. I'm not in the habit of playing games that are done in a style pre-1999, I reckon...? But may develop an addiction thanks to this one! We need more properly adult-themed games in the Adventure community, IMHO.

So, to sum it up: story, sprites, music, dialogue/monologues, theme, playability... let's just say LOVE.

Thank you, developers. You've provided tonnes of fun and inspiration. I'd wanted to do a 'hooker' game a few years ago; it's good to know there are some others on the same page. :-)

2 cups seems unfair for a game that touches on a unique subject, and tackles it in a realistic yet offbeat way. The fact that your choices matter (similar to recent Telltale Games) is very interesting, especially since, in some cases, the "right" choice isn't that obvious.

Definitely recommended!

Finally got around to playing this. Fun concept. Multiple endings. Definitely worth a play.

Very well done !!! Should have been an little bigger, but it falls in place with this game, to bad no speaking... but keep on working on this type of games, i'm really crazy about.

I had a really great time playing this one. It really does have a wonderful replay value. And I thought it was hilarious. Good work, and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Very good fun, excellent graphics and interface and the author has thought through the gameplay.

Ahhh, I love these kind of games! In which I mean a game where ya just play and see how well you do, then think about what went wrong, and play the game again. Then you try silly stuff and see what happens (which I found very amusing).

Seems like one of those marmite games

The concept is interesting, but as a game it lacks the fun factor and things to do in general.

Very fun game. I think it deserves a higher score, actually. It was the most fun AGS game I've played in a long time.
It progresses mostly through dialogue rather than puzzles, unlike more traditional adventure games. A few puzzles are present, but are easily solved. The point of the game is in exploring the story paths and possible endings--a "choose your own adventure" sort of thing. It probably lost points for this from the AGS Panel, but I think it's a valid form of storytelling that, while more passive, is enjoyable in its own way.

Also, there's a lot of adult content (particularly of a sexual nature) in the game, but it never seems crass and distinguishes Back Door from many of the more cartoony AGS games.

An outstanding but short game. Highly replayable with some memorable moments. Don't let the 2 cup rating put you off, it's certainly worth a play so long as you're okay with the subject matter.

Pretty high quality stuff. What it lacks in "gameplay" is made up by the replay value. And you will want to play it again, as you might not always get the "best" ending. All I can say is bravo. Bravo for the story, graphics, sound and the witty dialogue. Especially for the short time this game was made in. Put it on your "To play before I die" list.
