Just downloaded and played for a while. It's really funny and it has a nice interface concept, at least it's different.
I would rather not use an exit as SSH said.
I love the way the inventory items are drawn and presented to the player, it add to the experience.
I hope I get to play the full game soon.
I'll make a coment and vote at the games/demo page when I finish it.
good job and good luck

I didn't read the deadline for games to be completed, but I think Colorwise would have a big chance on getting that trophy!

General Discussion / Re: Gay, the insult

Stupot: it's not the 'gay gene', but the hormones!
some males have more female hormone than other, it is a cientific fact. If you add social environment plus unconventional  childhood, it can boost what those individuals will try to hide.
There are more gay people in the world than we aknowledge, and some get famous, and if you see them on a cheap TV show than it's like every other person in it, they are cheap and stereotyped people!
To be gay is the same as to be hetero in everything except the gender of people you fancy. There are cool, interesting gays and there are some vulgar ones! Just like everybody else!

I liked the pixelated look more. But i really think this style owns as well. but question remains does this style fit for your pixelated drawn characters?

Yeah, everytime I try to draw in a different/cartoony way I've quit because my characters don't blend well.
The thing is, it's much easier to animate a pixel character than a drawing.

Ben: The screen you did for skitzo is very arty, almost impressionist (reminds me of Van Gogh's 'La nuit...something'. It captures the lamp light as it reflects  on the street,  the scenery is damp and almost wet, you can feel the humidity in the air. That's my first impression of it. I would love to see it oil painted!
So, I do think it could work on a game, or cutscene maybe, but the characters have got to have the same quality and feeling. Add some good music and good plot and there you go!

I saw the drawings on your blog (the ones showing here aren't working btw) and they look pretty good!
It's a shame if they don't turn out on a game!
keep it going, you'll find lots of help in the forums!

Hi Ben,
First of all I like your technique and choice of colors, they set a mood as soon as you look at the pictures.
My opinion is that the first drawing works better ( I can imagine a character walking around ) than the others because it has more detail, there is more stuff going on. The other pictures look too still for me, a bit monotonous.
The cartoon feeling is all there and you have a talent for it! :)

Hi Toonaholic,
the drawings look pretty cool and professional, as for the animations I would add as much as you can because it really boosts the quality of games.
Good luck

Modest Mouse are a good band, I'm allways trying to pick Marr's guitar from the other instruments which is easy because he's such a good musician.
Morrissey did come out, I'm afraid, buy Uncut's last issue, there is something about it. Also, if you listen to 'You are the Quarry' album, you'll see it's all about coming out of the closet for Morrissey. Thank god for that, nobody has to suffer for 20 years! As for what Marr said about Mozz having had relations with girls, well? That's only normal, isn't it?
Most gay guys have relations with girls and then discover they don't like it that much!
all the best

It only took Morrissey 20 years to come out of the closet, so stay calm gay agsers, there is time!

Sorry to rain on that parade Miguel, Morrissey has never come out. And according to Johnny Marr, he's had relationships with guys and girls.
But yes, The Smiths rock, speaking of which, I saw Johnny Marr with Modest Mouse last weekend. That was great :D

Also, for a while being called a fag really annoyed me because I was scared I was. I realized I was bi a while back and being called a fag didn't scare me anymore, so it's just another meaningless insult. It's always great fun making it backfire on a friend though
"You're such a fag."
"yeah" *wink and blow kiss*
Always freaks em out. Good for a giggle.

I've finished a game using 2.72 and started using 3.0 for a different one.
It takes me more time doing things but I believe it's a question of time.
3.0 allows me to organize my work better and I like the windowed debbuger, it's faster and pretty handy!

You should all be listening to The Smiths! :)
It's all about beeing gay in a very poetic way ( gays aren't allways the sensitive type ) in a world where to be gay can put someone in trouble.
It only took Morrissey 20 years to come out of the closet, so stay calm gay agsers, there is time!
When I was a teenager I thought, for a while, that I could be gay, not because I felt atracted to my friends but because I liked male icons ( James Dean, Morrissey, Montgomery Cliff, etc... ) and could not get laid with a girl and most of my friend did. Knowing they were all gay icons didn't help at all.
Eventualy I met a girl and I still remember not sleeping through the night following my first real kiss.
Stupot, this one for you:

Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to

Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to

So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?

Coyness is nice, and
Coyness can stop you
From saying all the things in
Life you'd like to

So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?

Spending warm Summer days indoors
Writing frightening verse
To a BUCKTOOTHED girl in Luxembourg...

Sorry for the long post, and if you think it had typos, try and play my game!

I was wondering if this game had died! Keep it going!
The last screenshot reminds me of KOTOR 1, I finished the game in one month and I still have fond thoughts about the game!

Critics' Lounge / Re: Another Lighthouse!

I think it would not be possible to see through those small circular  holes/(windows?)  on top. I guess the viewer had to be on a very precise spot to do that.
Ah, and looking at the way your lighthouse is looking I'm afraid I'm not even gonna try and post mine!
great job!

Zargblister: I'm very sorry that the game has that many errors and you didn't play it.
I will correct it and release a new version as soon as possible.
Thanks for your help and support since I've released the first version.
If you ever get past the intro, please report some more bugs, ok?
