I don't think that the release time has really something to do with the results, it is maybe more a question of the number of downloads and the distribution of the game...
"Nanobots" was downloaded 1250 times in six months...

To clarify, that only accounts for the number of downloads from the AGS site. Both Vince and I distribute Nanobots from our respective websites, and other game sites have asked and received permission to host and distribute it. So, the actual numbers are hard to figure out, but the AGS count is definitely a lowball estimate.

Ivy's Nanobots had actually five player characters, so there was a five time chance to get that nomination, but if you ask me which bot I find most interesting I simply wouldn't know it...

Six, actually. Not sure how that nomination would work, either.

I love Ivy's red hair.

You're voting for my hair? Surely that's not fair to everyone else.  :-[

Edit: Also, thank you for all those nominations! I actually laughed when I saw them all, it was pretty surprising. :) Thanks again for playing and supporting my games. I sincerely appreciate it, especially because I'm trying to make a living at this now. It's quite scary sometimes, but seeing things like this really helps.

Wow, thanks LimpingFish! That's the first I'd seen of that interview in print. :)

Helloooo, new Facebook picture...

Thanks for reading. :)

Yeah, they were a bit short, but unfortunately I'm still figuring out the ropes. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with these guys in the future sometime.

And Miez, that's a little harsh! I've got half a mind to interview you if you don't watch it! ;)

General Discussion / Three Indieviews
Fri 12/12/2008 01:27:20
Hey dudes. :)

A couple weeks ago I had the chance to interview three indie developers who were at the Montreal "MIGS" conference. The results are here:

#1: Petri Purho (Crayon Physics Deluxe)
#2: Alec Holowka (Aquaria)
#3: Jonathan Blow (Braid)

It was a fantastic experience for me, and I felt genuinely honoured that these three gentlemen took the time to answer my questions. And Jon Blow apparently likes text adventures. I am unsure how to end this, so I'll just steal Eric's thunder and say, "Hooray!"

Oh man, this is exciting! :D

I absolutely loved the first installation of this game, and showed it to a lot of my friends (the ones who I thought would get the humour, anyway ;) ). Kudos to you for working on this for the past few years; I was worried it would never see the light of day. Nice to see you've kept the FMV cutout style, and the ridiculous propaganda. I have a weakness for that sort of thing, you see.

Thanks G (And everyone else whose nice comments I missed before. The world needs more Soviet-style comments, I say!). :)

And Ghost, I really meant to play Fillauth too, but I never got around to it. Let me know how it is, if you happen to play it.

Little Girl in PC Gamer UK!

This is a pretty exciting development, I think. :)

They're also doing a short interview with me next month. Adventure games, people! They'll take you all sorts of places.

Yeah, that video was alternately charming and hilarious. I love how the narrator talks about "com-pu-ter games" like the listener doesn't know what they are. Clearly, they bought the game, and yet they need to be told how popular computer games are.

Ah well, no one should be held accountable for what they said (or what hairstyle they were rocking) in 1992.

Watch this.

It's some kind of propaganda film about the King's Quest series. Wow, the 90s were an awesome time to be alive. :D

I enjoyed the question and the answers! Hooray for all involved! Boo to erin for losing whatever drinking game was being drunk

Funfact: today I received the following text message from my 13-year-old brother:

Erin i see you were last in a drinking game on the internet (',') (lolcat)!

Um...I guess I'm setting a good example?

I think I won the drinking game. Every single time.

Yeah, it wasn't fair...you Aussies must have some kind of genetic advantage. :P

...where the hell is Velma!

Good question!!!

Dear god.

Well, at least he wasn't wearing that salmon-coloured hoodie. ;)

P.S. Thanks to everybody who enjoyed the show. :) It was loads of fun to make, and we got a delicious Italian meal out of it. Plus some behind-the-scenes footage that should never be posted anywhere, ever.

Shh, don't tell anyone!

Hello sir! I thoroughly enjoy these comics and request that there be more of them. Good day!

Hey Squinky!

Heh, I'm glad you enjoyed my games, and I'm even happier that you've returned. I was actually thinking the other day that we hadn't seen any of your ink drawings in a long time, or any of you for that matter. I always enjoyed following the Critic's Lounge threads. I'd post there more, if it weren't for all these pesky NDA's. ;)

Now if we could only convince Scummbuddy to post here more often...
