AGS Games in Production / Re: 44 The Jail

Look like a great game...just wishlisted it & looking forward to the release!  If I may just say one little thing though...while watching the trailer, I was having to frequently pause it because the dialog was moving so fast.  Not a big deal at all, just a teeny fyi.

Wow!   For your first game, this really looks awesome!  Very impressive artwork.

very pretty looking game!   (nod)

Oh my!      From the developers of Heroine's Quest??  Uhmm...YES, please!

The trailer looks amazing...and who doesn't love an underdog story?  Keep us posted...will there be a demo one day?  Kickstarter?  I'd happily contribute.

Either way, very exciting!  I will definitely be keeping an eye out for this one.

I know I said something about it on the Steam page, but I'll reiterate it here:  this game is amazing.  Loved the demo--and looking forward (an understatement, really) to playing the full release in a few months!!

So exciting!  You're in the home stretch (of sorts)!  Thanks very much for the update.  I know a ton of people are anxiously awaiting this game.  :)

You better believe I just wishlisted this.   (nod)   Will there be a demo, by any chance?

Ah.  I'm pretty sure I clicked everywhere EXCEPT for that.  D'oh!!   (wrong)

Regardless--thank you for answering all of my questions...not being able to complete a game is infuriating, lol.

Yes, and I hope my comment didn't come across as ugly...that definitely wasn't my intention!  It was meant as more of a dig at me, because I'm a stubborn old coot & change is hard.  I go through that any time I play something that evolves (like King's Quest or Monkey Island).  Even if it's not the style that I had previously known and loved for years, I can stop and appreciate each individual background & character, and in the end I really did love it.  It's a great-looking game, and I hope everyone else loves it too.

Happy to contribute.  As I said before, I love the look of this game and can't wait to play it--in English!   :-D

Ok, thanks for the help!  I was able to get past that little part and pretty much finish the game.  Except...

Spoiler
When I try to shoot the man (I forget his name) who's holding Linda hostage, I end up shooting her every time.  No matter where I aim at him--his head, his shoulder, his arm, etc. I also tried shooting the microphone (or whatever it was) off to the side, and the game says "Cop goes berzerk and shoots innocent bystanders!"  LOL.  Where are you supposed to aim?  Is it just a pixel-hunt type of thing?

So I'm not sure WHAT the heck I'm doing wrong.  But either way, I'm just happy I was able to get to what was probably the final scene of the game.  It was a good game!

Hints & Tips / Re: Broken Windows Chapter 4!

Well, here I am yet again, stumped again.

Spoiler
I'm in the little town shopping center and I'm trying to get the shop owner to sell me the hat.  So I apparently need a phone to convince him I'm an influencer (I think the phone is in that claw/prizes machine), and I also need to win the jackpot of coins from the Coin machine.  I was hoping the game would let me just kick it or break into it with my nightstick, but no luck.

I have in my inventory: set of Boules, sunglasses, Marketing book, 2 pence coin, and net.  What do I do?
Spoiler

Thanks again in advance!  I hope I'm not missing something obvious...

Shadow 1000, did you happen to do a walkthrough video of this game??  :P

Ah ha!

Spoiler
no, I had not gotten the magnet yet by clipping the donkey's rope...that finally propelled me forward, phew!
Spoiler

Thanks Shadow!  I finally got past that part on the beach, so we'll see how long it is until I need more help.

Hello!  I'm on the beach...stumped.

Spoiler
I have the balsamic vinegar (don't know how to get it changed into "regular vinegar" for the elderly couple), the sharp tin can, and the boules.  I showed the badge to the little girl, but she still calls me a stranger; I taped up the Wanted Poster so I can talk to people; I dug up the "treasure"; and I need to get the stuff from the fisherman so I can give it to the seagull & scare the nudist (I'm assuming).  What am I missing?
Spoiler

Spoilers welcome!  The more, the merrier

I just finished the demo not too long ago...I gotta say, I really loved it.  At first glance I thought, "hmm, this may not be quite the graphical style for me (cartoon-esque)" but after playing through it, I had a MUCH better appreciation for the art style and just the gameplay in general.  I love how the characters' mouths move in synch with the dialog—-that's a really nice touch as well.

So, I think this will be extremely intriguing (for lack of a better word) with lots of interesting storylines, just like a Wadjet Eye game always is.  And I'm anticipating some kind of tragic component that tugs at the heart strings as well.  Highly awaited game from you guys ever since 2018's Unavowed...can't wait to dig into this one!

Those are some good looking screenshots!  I especially love the bedroom with the little hanging pictures & stuff in the foreground.  Can't wait to play the game once it's done!

Ok, this is awesome news.  I've played the other 3 games in the series and loved them all...I have no doubt this one will be amazing as well.  In fact, since it's been a minute since I've played the other ones, I might just go back and replay them all again to refresh my memory because I'm sitting here trying to recall why he's a fugitive now...? [edit: I remember now]

--And that means tons of hours of good gameplay a'coming...yay!!  If you can't tell, I'm pretty excited & I'll update later with my thoughts on Chapter 4.  Cheers!

edit: of course, I'm already stuck and there's no walkthroughs to be found yet.  I'll post something on the hints & tips page...

Oh, it's already out  :-D Patch 1.05 arrived last Thursday, here's the full change log: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1902850/allnews/

Some of the difficulty changes, like starting money amount and weekly allowance amount require a new game, others should kick in without any problems. It would be great to hear if the patch makes the game easier and does it let you focus on the story.

Oh wow ok!  It doesn't list anything regarding an "easier easy" mode on the patch notes, but that's really awesome.  I'm about 3/4 through my first run (no CLUE how I'm still alive, but I have definitely had to prioritize studies/rat hole/anything that makes me more money, over solving the MAIN game story (no spoilers)), so when I do a 2nd playthrough it'll be really nice to feel like I can branch out more.  As it is, there's no WAY I'm getting the good ending, so I have more motivation to try again now!

Oh--I completely understand, and I'm probably in the teeny-tiny minority here anyway.  I appreciate you even reading/considering my comment, and I hope I didn't make it sound as though I'm not enjoying playing the game.  Currently, I'm only about 3 or 4 weeks into it anyway, so who knows what will happen to poor Walter?  :P

I did try using a save game a few times to "test" things out a bit (e.g., seeing how long I could go without taking medicine while sick, how tired I could get, or how hungry I could become, without it causing me to totally suffer or even die), in order to kind of see what corners I could cut here or there.  It really is fun to try & sort things out, and I swear once I think I have a system all figured out...Bam!  Something completely unexpected puts a kink into things.

All that blathering to say that you've made a really great game!  You're very talented.  It seems as though everyone is really loving it, and once I'm done myself, I'll be leaving a positive review on Steam as well.
