Trapezoid, I´ve had a discussion like this is a Spanish channel, and these are the conclussions:

MI saga is a very sensitive matter. For me, CMI is good, has allways been, but EMI results very odd for me in this franchise, so I finally started to "hate" it. I can understand that you want to save the integrity of the saga, there are two communities, the "purists" and the "mythomans", whose could be happy with any of the future games of the series.

But we´re in fact in the same ship, we all love Monkey Island series.

For me, MI3 is good because if Guybrush has imagined the two previous games, he can go on with his fantasy... but MI4 is too much for me.

but re-play the two first games imagining he´s in a theme park, and you´ll see how many things fit... sentences like Carla saying "I don´t want to become one more of the attractions of Melêe Island" "We´re actors and this world is a stage" "People talked like that in that century"...

The only points against the "theme park" theory are the rays in Chuckie´s eyes... and I´ve read severall time that Ron was not sure to include it...

BTW, to start a new discussion of which is the Secret is usefull... till Ron says which whas the secret he had in mind.

Anyway... I agree with you that the series are very special.  :)

Well, Melia, I don´t know you deeply, but saying "so long, and hope you to come back soon" won´t hurt nobody.

Pliz, re-join the community as soon as you can. We need the oldies to show the newbies the paths...

Ufff... I think Barcik says that Scoobar hookes... I think we could make the Fargraph (Or GrapharL) Enterprise and then associate.

I can´t see the twisted title, but, HEY! I demmand a new avatar and in few hours it´s here! I was sure that you were a kind guy when I saw the attitude during your first posts, but this it too much, thanks WoOdz...

Now I won´t imagine you as an ungly Witch...

P.S. I love the motorbike in your photo post.

Coffee lady... There is a answer to that... The photos post is Helm´s issue, and he does not accept pics of girls, except if the bigger clothes piece they wear is a bikini.

So, post your pic in bikini.

(I must try it, guys)

;D ;D ;D

Well... We´re an enterpise with no president, I think... Scoobar is for "SCOtch and BARcik" (Yeah, Jan, we´re out  :-[  ;D) and the decissions had to be taken under agreemenrt of all teh parts...

So I think our announcement will have to wait :)

I thought little Chucky's glowing eyes indicated that this was just another of LeChuck's tricks.

It is quite known that the rays in Chuckies eyes and Elaine in the final scene are shortcuts added without Ron Gilbert´s total agreement for carrying the series. Trust me... Guybrush is a guy whose escaped in a park and imagined the whole 2 games, like Calvin and Hobbes.

Quote from: Trapezoid on Mon 26/05/2003 20:03:15the people who were disappointed with CMI seem to have disappeared. Think history would repeat itself if they made MI5?

Mmmm... I´m not sure, it will deppens on MI5. If it is good, that will be a definitive hit to MI4, and it will become into something like "an oddity inside the saga".

If MI5 is bad, It could be a definitive hit to the franchise.

WOods, you could be my friend, if you want, but your avatar "scares" me... it is an ugly witch... If you change it into a most "kind" one I´ll talk to you.

Nah, N3TGRAPH, Darth Mandarb is making a great game about Star Wars, we can´t compete with him  :P ;)

I have an storyline in mind about a suckey guy in his final high school dance, getting the girl at the end, in a very typical american movie style, but how´s gonna be the next project is a task of all the members of the Enterprise.

P.S. I´ve almost convinced Barcik to announce our game... maybe when I finish grades.  ::)

The general feeling is that S&M 2 will be better that FT2, let´s hope LA guys will make a good job. I think that S&M were a product (a comic, in fact) of Steve Purcell, so, if he´s still in the project the final result can´t be so bad.

You weren't around to defend it when it first came out though, were you?

I don´t know if you were trying to be sarcastic, but you´re right  :) I was not very into internet forums when CMI came, so all that that it was quite blamed when it was released is quite new for me, believe me, the news I had were that, even without being a totaly "Ron Gilbert´s Monkey Island saga", it was good.

But EMI dissapointmed me fro the very first scene. Guybrush tied till Eliane fights for him? Ok, Elaine is a good swordwoman, but Guybrush is good also, his clothes in MI2 show that he´s a real pirate. Guybrush bringing Elaine´s luggage up and down? Is he just a stupid kid under Elaine´s thumb? Why must he trip to one Island to another doing her things? I think that MI and MI2 were games for people from 17 to 22 years old.  MI3 was also a game for teenagers (the problem was that many of the original players of MI and 2 were older, the saga did not grow with us, but it was still suitable...) But MI4 is a game for kids, too shy...

I still hope they will do something better in MI5, but I would preffer LA not doing MI5 if they´re going to make some rubbish like the 4th game.

General Discussion / Re:Eurovision Kiss Kiss

I saw Eurovision because the Spanish candidate is very know as the winner of a famous contest. I think the spanish singer does not sing very well, her voice is too broken, but she likes many people, what can I do :P. My favourite song was the Irish, but... The Austrian song and how they did the performance was brilliant! Very funny and new for Eurovision. I laugh a lot, I was sure it was going to get a lot of votes. If all the songs in Eurovision are going to be like that I´ll record it and I´ll see the tape once a week, at least.

P.S. The Turkish song was just average, not even good, I think there are many political matters involved in that contest.

CMI is loved and praised now that it's not the most recent game...

Well, Trapezoid, I loved CMI since I saw it... It has differences between MI and MI2, well, but... EMI is a totally different.

I´m not against 3-d games... I love Grim Fandango, but for MI4 they should went on with the point´n´click adventures, I think...

Oh! Now its perfectly clear, Proskrito is not trying to animate a wedgie, now I know the gag in Spanish I see it´s perfect.

Escape from Monkey island... and I am not a purist who doesn´t like non-Ron Gilberst sequels. MI3 is great.

Poeple I consider friends, some of them because I admire, some of them because I deeply know them.

Helm, splendid art, I  just admire him, he won´t probably know who I am.  :'(

Las Naranjas; I like the nick and he´s very kind at Mirc.

M0ds: I like his webpage with all that pics of people being naughty, in a "fight club style" (explosions inclusive). He also explained the me the "Mitar´s affair", so I could understand it.

Proskrito: I love his art, and he´s spanish like me... I´ll try to do a game with him someday.

Remixor: He´s been kind in forums and I agree 90% with him in their posts.

Andail: I think he´s glamourous... He´s very sensible in his posts, I like that.

Archangel: We talk sometimes at Mirc...

N3TGraph: Scoobar´s Enterinment buddie. He´s kind and imaginative.

Scotch: A great artist, and I love his teddy bear´s avatar. Scoobar´s mate.

Barcik: Israeli, Culé (Barcelona Fan) and the person whose I first met here. We´re collaborating in a game. Scoobar´s mate.

And CJ, because he´s created an explendid community from nothing.

Edit: Lemme add Felipe, for ICQ, and Butcher, for being so greek and so heavy metal guy.

Dark Stalkey, all deppends on the expectatives you have. If you expect that the films it´s going to amaze you, it will probably dissapoint you, and if you expect rubbish, you´ll probably be glad of the final result.
