Thanks shattered sponge,

In my defense I didn't know the name of the actual file, and didn't get much joy from my interpretation...

Many Thanks

General Discussion / Channel 4 - Swearing

Out of interest, did anyone manage to save off the flash file Channel 4 had on their website.  It was an advert in the current Channel 4 style of asking TV Stars their favourite colour, food etc but this one asked them their favourite swearword.

As I said, they had it on their website for a while but it seems to have gone now, and nothing shows up in Google.

Cheers

MODs,

I don't think I would have the time to do actual beta-testing on people's games, but if you need any help setting things up, let me know.

Mods,

I've just noticed track 18 is missing  :o

I'll still upload them somewhere and go looking for "Wounded Predator", unless anyone has this one track!

MODs

I got the soundtrack off alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.soundtracks a while back.

How should I get it to you?

Are there any others you need?

Darth's new design gets my vote.

Something about Klaus' just doesn't sit right with me, although I can't put my finger on what exactly.

I think the key is that the site does not look too corporate - it has to say 'cool fun fan community' not 'hardcore development application' IMHO.

What you want to do is visit http://www.dvdcoverart.com and down the left hand side there is a link to some JPEG templates they host.

Tis simple, no?

Did you ever manage to fix this JD?

Have you got DMA switched on for your DVD-ROM Drive?

You could try something like DVD Genie to see if that helps - it could be your DVD-ROM Player is set to 1, but Windows is set to something else?

Let us know how you get on.

Geoff,

Absolutely FANTASTIC!

I did have technical 'issues' playing the trailer back which I've posted in the Technical Forum (Are you using v2.6?), but even so I'm hugely impressed / jealous / gob-smacked / in awe!

Looking forward to the full release.

I think this is a v2.6 issue.

The Apprentice II Demo seems to exhibit some severe graphics smearing on my Internet machine, where AGS does not seem to be 'clearing' the screen each redraw, so the text appears on top of each other and the sprites draw each frame on top of each other.

This occurs at both 320x200 and 640x200 resolutions.

Basic specs - 1Ghz AMD Athlon, 256Mb RAM, 8Mb ATI All-in-Wonder Pro.

I'll try it on my GeForce machine later today.

The EXE version number is 2.60.678 but when you select 'Product Version' the value is 2.5.  Is this v2.6?

Correction - is being created.

There is a topic in the AGS 'Games in Production' forum where all the information is posted.

Hope this helps.

You could use Winamp to play your MP3s and enable the Diskwriter output module.

Hope that helps

Hi Andail,

Not being fuuny, but there was an article in the papers over here a couple of weeks back about a women who has found a certain breed of fish that love unhealthy / dead skin and will gently nibble it off you.  I've thrown the paper out, but it may be worth a google (Anyone else remember seeing this in the Metro?)  Supposedly it worked better than any cream of lotion and impressed this woman so much she has started breeding the fish.  She described it as a tickling sensation as they sucked the bad skin flakes off, leaving the good stuff.

But whatever, I hope you'll find a quick solution to your problem.

DONNA!

Does it still feature the neked lady???

Glad to hear this is still on the go goldmund.

Chris,

Am I going insane or did we just jump from v2.57Beta3 to v2.6Beta4?

Is this because you added 32Bit Colour support, which is a 'big deal'?

Matt
(Who won't be releasing a game until Chris adds 64bit 3D support  ;D )

Daventry,

We're all hoping that the people who started these topics about their games will come back and update them when there is some news - doing an "are we there yet? are we there yet?" number on all of the games you're interested in can become a little annoying (IMHO).

Police Quest 3 was released in VGA originally, so I cannot see anyone updating it anytime soon.

The SpaceQuest2 remake you refer to in the other topic is a non-AGS project.

MHawk states in his edited first post that he has postponed KQIIIVGA until next summer, if ever.

As with most amateur / fan games, they are ready when they are ready - most people who quote release dates normally crash them.

Finally, is there any particular reason why you haven't registered?  Anyone might think you're a lawyer for Sierra, keeping tabs on all our un-official sequels - say it aint so ;)

I've come into this thread a bit late, but i couldn't see a response to MODs / Chrille's question about the set being censored.

As far as I'm aware the UK version of Temple of Doom has about 1.30 cut from it - the heart through the man's chest etc.

Region 1 is uncut.  Europe Region 2 may be uncut.  UK Region 2 is definitely cut.

Best price I've seen is £28 for region 1 from DVDSoon.com

Hope that helps
