I've started upgrading my PC lately, and I'm thinking I should get a "real" sound card too, since so far I've been relying on my on-board AC97. I have to confess that sadly I don't know much about sound cards since I haven't been keeping up with things :/. I'm not looking for anything too sophisticated, just something with fair quality, and not too expensive.

I've been looking through some auction sites, and I've found some Soundblaster Live cards at cheap prices, but are those too old? As I said, I'm pretty much clueless :P. I've also found a Sound Blaster Audigy really damn cheap too, is that a better choice? And of course, if you've got any other suggestions to make, please do so!

Thanks, and if parts of this don't make sense, it's because I'm too damn sleepy...

General Discussion / R.I.P. Godfather

Just heard it on the radio, Marlon Brando died in a hospital today. He was 80 years old. Sure, he wasn't young, and he has lived a full life, I guess, but the news of his death made me feel so sad... He was truly the best American actor of the 20th century, and one of the best actors ever, period. I, for one, will really miss you. May you rest in peace, I, for one, will really miss you.

Before I begin, I apologise if this thread belongs to the General Discussion fourm, since it's fairly random, but I figured that it does have to do with adventures, so I figured I'd post it here. Anyway!

Recently I've bought several old games through the internet, but I didn't have enough time to play them, and this ended with me having such a huge list of games to play that I don't know where to begin. So I could use some ideas from you guys, because, knowing me, I'll end up not playing any of them. In any case, here are the games:

Beneath a Steel Sky (I didn't buy the game, just downloaded the ScummVm version)
Blade Runner
Bureau 13
Discworld
Quest for Glory 1 and 4.
Ringworld
Sanitarium

There are also a couple more (Hell, Kyrandia 3), but seeing as I can't get them to run on XP without sacrificing sound, I'll wait til I get back my oldschool AMD K5 at 100Mhz to play them.

Any opinions are more than welcome.

(edit) Oops, forgot Discworld.

Hear ye, hear ye. This be my first AGS game evar. Though it's not much of a game, it has to be said.

I am not going to post any screenshots for the game, mainly because my graphics suck and then nobody would download it :P.

Instead, here is some info on the story. The game is set in the near future, in a city that has been invaded and conquered by demons.  The player character is a veteran exorcist named Jonathan McKinney who tries to solve the mystery behind the demon invasion, but the game is seen through the viewpoint of the villain, Sovere, an old acquaintance of Jonathan's.

I'd like to hear some opinions on the game itself (which ain't much better than the graphics, it has to be said, I'm not good with scripting either).  At least it fulfills the MAGS guidelines, or I think it does. :P

In any case, download it at:

I'll try to find a better host in the near future. Be sure to read the readme file first, and especially the disclaimer. BTW, this is mentioned in the readme, but I might as well say it here too: In the menu screen, right click on the options instead of left-clicking. Trust me on this one.

Nevermind. I found the other thread about 5 days a stranger, even though when I tried the search function nothing came up. Maybe I'm just too damn sleepy for my own good. :P

In any case, this thread is no longer of any use, so please delete it. Sorry
