Hi guys,

It's been a long time since I've posted in this forum last. After getting a job in a professional game studio and getting a family making adventure games in my spare time has been pretty down-prioritized.
I hope everyone is good...

Anyway, the last year or so I've been working with a couple of guys on an adventure/platform game called CHRONOLOGY - I'm game director and music composer. The game is not done in AGS but since it's both an adventure game and developing games in AGS (incl. using this forum) has been the best education I could get for what I do for a living now, I thought that I wanted to show you my game anyway.

We're currently trying to get our game greenlighted through Steam (here you can also see a video and screens):

I'd be grateful for a thumbs up in Steam Greenlight but also just be interested in knowing what you guys think about how the game looks.
The game is still in development so all feedback welcome!

Hope you like what you see.

All the best,
Niels

Brief introduction to the game:
We've tried to combine mechanics from a few of my favorite games: Day of the Tentacle, Braid and Lost Vikings.
You must solve puzzles as an Inventor who is able to travel between the past and the future - so many of the puzzle revolves around manipulating the past to change the future. The Inventor teams up with a snail who is able to climb on walls and stop time. The two sets out on a journey through a steampunky world inspired by Studio Ghibli and the works of Shaun Tan.

I like it! Looks a bit like Patrick Star from Spongebob  ;D
Funny. You're right. I didn't see that before now.
Actually his head is originally from a strange picture I draw some time ago...

Hi there
It's been a long time since I've posted on this forum, but after pushing some pixels around i thought it was a great opportunity to get back.
Here's my new spite step by step. I'm trying to develop some sort of technique so please criticize everything...

sketch drawn by hand

Outline

Basic colors

shadows

Highlights

Colored Outline and right arm added
(25 colors incl. transparency)

I'm not exactly sure which I like better, the last one or the one before that one.
Please crit...

I think that the covers to the band Propagandhi's last two albums where printed on recycled material. So were their posters and live-dvd. The band's lyrics are very political (incl. pro-enviromental stuff)- so it make sense...
BTW The band is awesome if you like fast thrash/punk music!

Hello

I'm currently working in a company that makes games for mobile phones and we're thinking about making an adventure game. The cool thing about this is that it would actually be possible to make a game that graphicly resembles the old adventure games and still being the state of the art on its medium.

There is still two mayor issuses:
1. There is no mouse meaning that point 'n' click will be an unatractive control method
(Maybe this could be solved by making hotspots that are made interactive when the player character is moved close to them)
2. There's not a lot memory for graphics
(Maybe this could be solved by reclycling graphics for example by making the game universe consist of almost simular rooms)

What are your thoughts on this?
And would even consider playing an adventure game on your mobile phone?

Thanks...

Ok, let's make this a little more interesting.
Heavly inspired but Nihilyst I made this short song. It's done really quickly but at least it's an entry:

In the room where this song is played is where the 15 year old David had been sitting until the break of dawn just starring out the window on a cold October night after having recieved the break up call from his first girl friend.

Thanks for all the replies.
The reason why some the images are a little hard to figure out is because I've scaled down the image to fit the forum.
Too bad that most of you don't like the image because it's too weird or chaotic. Actuallly I thought that it should have more chaos. I wanted it to look as f**ked up as possible...
Maybe I'm just aiming at the wrong audience here or maybe I just have bad taste.

Thanks for the answer. I'm glad you find it disturbing!
I think I'll remove the ugly body on the back side.
Actually "crazy" might have been the wrong word to use about the music - it's more of an really avant-garde art thing. (Neither punk or hip hop)

Cheers.

BTW this cover IS for a reallyy cheap disc released by really cheap band...

Yo yo
It has been quite a while since I last posted in the Critics Lounge. I've been really busy.
Well, I've just finished the cover for an EP I'm doing. The music on it pretty crazy combined with spoken words in Danish.

Any comments on it before I sent it to print?

The cover - front and back

The print on the cd...

I hope none of this is too offensive for anyone...
Cheers!

I play a good game of Risk once in a while with a couple of friends.
The game Zombies!!! is also very good. It has a nice mood if you play with the right people.

I love it...
But when the game ended the resolution on my computer went bananas and I had to restart it.

It might not be politically correct, but it's pretty funny!

I think this is a cool idea and I would gladly donate a track (or more)!
I hope this works out...

I would also say the one to the left. His shoes are also cooler...
There's something about their lower face that I'm not digging. It's like the jaw is too big and square. I like the old Fatman face better...
Otherwise very cool sprite!

The Fallout games actually included drugs with all their hard reality: positive effects connected with the danger of becoming addicted.
I also think that it's really cool that Fallout shows both good and bad side of doing drugs. That's an example of how that game have a lot more adult view on many subjects compared to most of other games. Fallout rocks! I hope that Fallout 3 will keep on being that way...

In my game The Bar you have take drugs to solve one of the puzzles:

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (and 4 sometimes but it's not as good), some of the Sam and Max episodes and Vampire: Bloodlines. I don't have that much time to play so it's mostly THPS2...
