Ok, use JavaScript but remember to check then that the game works with Firefox, Opera and other browsers too. Otherwise I think you'll get critic like this: http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=2384 :) No, really!

Use Java applets. Javascript isn't made for games. And with Java applet you could do inventory and all that stuff. And then you can compile a stand-alone version of your game. And then you can compile a mobile version of your game. :) (With a LOT of tweaking)

Anyway, don't use the traditional monsters in your game (like dragons) use those that everyone has heard of, but which seem still so weird that they haven't been used. Check out IVAN

If you wan't to go with the Krakox the barbarian style, then go. But take my advice - use Java Applets.

EDIT: In fact, I might code you the base engine. And btw forgot to mention, you can make a complicated AI too for your monsters, and you can make the rooms scroll with Java Applet.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Need help with team logo

Well my suggestions are:

If you want to make the old logo better:
1. Try to make the "Dogma Day Games"-text stand out (You know, different color than the background)
2. Put the sword in the screen vertical way, and write the text to the sword.

If you want to make a completely new logo:
Draw a calendar that has a picture of mom dog on it. Wait some time, and I might draw you an example of what I mean.

In Zork Grand Inquisitor when
Spoiler

You had to cast the weather spell on the umbrella tree to get the scroll,
and when you had to cast the purple invisibility on the word 'infinite'.

Excellent game! And I'm still playing it... does someone know a walkthrough/hints URL?

Anyway, I like the music track too as it creates a mystic theme. I just wish someone would have made a wacky voice acting for this... the humour would sound even better with it! :) Actually, if no-one's up to it, I could make voice acting for this game! :D

FF6 had a Terra that morphed into esper and flew away. I suggest you get some inspiration from Terra's espersprites.

Terra's sprites

When your character would fly, you could make him lean forward and if she's going fast, make her hair fly in the air. (You know, not that she would lose her hair :D)

EDIT: Also, you could make she close her eyes if she makes herself fly...)

Critics' Lounge / Re: Drawing style improving

Babar: Actually the 2nd one is a person that has so thick fur (or hair) all over his body you will only be able to see his eyes. The 1st person was supposed to be a short-temperamentic brainiac.

Afflict: Thanks for advice, I already have tons of sketches drewn on paper. I think I'll be using them in my future characters.

I'll hold this one open a while longer if kinoko still wants to enter ...

So do you mean you'll hold this open a day or two?

This is pretty lame clothing, but Thingummie still has Ray Bans on his face! 8)
I'm not quite sure will this entry be accepted because this is my first time in colouring ball competition. Well, anyway, here it is.

I suggest that Chris Jones would publish the project file syntax so people could make their own ags editors for Mac and Linux and other operating systems. Although this won't be a wise act if project file and compiled exe don't have a difference between them. Well anyway - I think this way we could get at least a linux version of the editor, I hate when I run AGS with Wine, and the textboxes are too small to display text and room fading bugs etc.

Second suggestion: Add Mac and Linux compile buttons to the Windows version of Ags.

EDIT: Fixed topic

Here's my entry: Cue Ball and his partner Scrubby.

Cue Ball is the brainiac of the team and Scrubby is... the hairiac of the team.
Together they are up to get some of Cue Ball's wacky inventions sold.
One of Cue Ball's inventions is Kassuhelium, the bigbrother of helium. They also have a little submarine that uses Kassuhelium instead of water.  ;D

EDIT: Wrote accidentally [/png], not [/img] :)
