I've been informed that this game has been completed but the creator doesn't want to release it because he wants some money for it and so isn't releasing it free.

He's asking for a measly $10 but personally I'm pretty mad that he isn't doing it for free!

For god sake Dan, just give the public what they want, why finish it but not release it.

Is it possible to make a line a walable area, by this I mean I mean 1 pixel instead of having to make it a filled in rectangle.

Cheers mate the GUI is sorted.

About this smooth walking, on one room I have a wide enough walkable area but it just seems as soon as he hits the edge he stops for half a second (while his walking animation continues) before he starts to move in the right direction again.

Is there any other ways?


Edit: I think there may be a frame missing in the characters walk that may making this way more obvious that it should be. I'll look into it but if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Hello me newb.

I'm in a bit of a cuffufle here and need some help.

1. I want to make narrow walkable areas and make the character walk smoothly across the them. Basically whenever my characters come to an edge his walking animation gets stuck for about half a second.

Can I make narrow lines and have a smooth walking character, or is there a script so i can allow just a line to be the walkable area instead of have to make it a filled in rectangle every time?

2. I'm using the old MI 2 template (fixed it for 2.71), I added my own GUI as GUI 11 and want it to come up after the intro credits. But how can I make it come up with closing the current background, at the moment it just overlays it.

I'll let you know, but what about other AGS products like Indy and the Last Crusade 2, have they gotton in any trouble yet?

Sorry all for the double threads, i just thought i had to put it in here to show it was in production and what the updates are, and in the critics lounge to get opinions.

I let my brother play it and he found loads of spelling mistakes.

Correcting them as i speak (type).

Changes:
Fixed mom talking sprites
Fixed Guybrush giving/pickingup/showing sprite (shows elaine e ticket)
Can skip most text using any key not mouse
Can skip Intro after the Monkey Island Title has appeared
Characters now turn when talking (looks better)
Fixed Spelling (what i could find, a lot of lower cased i's)
Added some more music
Changed the text colour to suite characters (If anyone knows a better text colour for chuckie please tell me and the numbers)


If you have downloaded it already, there no point downloading it again just yet (unless your got a fast cconnection and time), cause there is no new rooms, so same stuff but looks better.


As for Guybrush Sprites, i used the ones that come with MI 2 Template, i am going to make my own when i can, cause i can see when he talks his neck goes over his clothes.

But for now i got to  enjoy the sun while its here, chow!

Is it possible to do:

SetSkipSpeech(1);

So they skip by kep, but can i do it so it can only be skipped by ESC?

Thats what it said in the Games in Production Rules, so thats why i posted in here.

But i can't say much because i don't know what the C&C stand for, Command and Conquer prehaps?

What about turn when facing? << This was the real problem not turn while walking

SetGameOption (OPT_TURNWHENFACING, 0);


I've got the global function but don't know where to put it where it has effect?

I've looked everywhere, how am i meant to know the numbers for the colours i need?

Any help would be great :D

You should really post that comment in the critics loung (my other thread of this game is in there).

And no it's not a conversion of the whole game, but does use the same art, and some of the same music.

But it's the true ending of how monkey island should of ended (the secret).

By the way after that last scene, the player will get full control.

Tell me if you like my game, I've been working on in for the last few days, so it's new in production but i need some opinions.

Especially monkey island fans (even though all are welcome), because i want to know there opinions of the SECRET of monkey island.

Hi all,

The other day i was looking for Monkey Island Sprites, when i stumbled upon a very interesting fact.

The secret of monkey island has never been revealed!

The thing is is the original developer Ron Gilbert did not make monkey island 3 or 4, and was not his story that carried on so a lot of things in number 2 did not add up.

Well i tried both, putting them in befoe fade in, and right before the walk function which it crashs on, no luck.

I even tried both together.

This is a bug they'll just have to fix
