Looking for 2D animator to join us for the production of Midnight at the Celestial Palace Part II, the sequel to the 2017 musical comedy adventure!

Check out the original game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/460140/Midnight_at_the_Celestial_Palace_Chapter_I/

Must be skilled and comfortable with pixel art! We're first and foremost looking for an animator, but this person may certainly become involved with other areas of production if they so desire.

We're looking for a revenue share arrangement, though other types of compensation can certainly be discussed! Please contact me at orrerygames@gmail.com for further details!

I have a few years experience managing a game project and seeing it to completion (commercial release.) Also, I'm an experienced composer.

Your concept seems fun and I might be interested in helping you. However, it would be good to see some screenshots, if only concept ones.

PM me if you'd like to discuss things in detail.

Hello all. My name is Justin and I'm a freelance composer in search of new projects.

Since graduating with my BA in Composition in 2010 I have been working exclusively in the realm of video games. I have provided music for both PC and Mobile titles, most recently the point-and-click adventure musical Midnight at the Celestial Palace. Development teams I've worked with include groups like BlipHaus Design and Crystal Shard.

You can find examples of my work on my SoundCloud page.

Please note that I am looking for paid work only at this time. However, I am willing to negotiate on my fee for the right project. You can contact me at justin @ celestialpalace.net (spaces removed.)

Thanks for reading. Happy game-making, everyone!

I just finished playing this. The graphics, animation, effects and environment are EXCELLENT! The puzzles and story are also really enjoyable. It is a real shame it ends here and was abandoned. Even the teaser for Chapter 2 was really cool to watch.

SHADOW

I'm glad you liked it. It'd be fun to make a second chapter, but odds are it won't happen. Too busy working on bigger stuff. :D

No, not intentional. But the role has been recast since anyway :p

Hello all. I've been using AGS for a number of years and have worked on a variety of projects, some that were released, some that weren't. You know how it goes. :p

But I'm pleased to say that I'll be releasing my first commercial game this year:

Midnight at the Celestial Palace - The Point and Click Musical

Please do check it out if you have time! Thanks.

The Eternal Night: You play as a desk clerk working the graveyard shift at a run-down hotel. Things are as boring as usual until...
Well, you'll find out!

I made this game a number of years ago as a way to learn about AGS and game making in general. I just recently found it on a thumb
drive and decided to share it. I intended to add more features and fix a few bugs, but eventually abandoned the project for something
different. That said, it is able to be completed and offers, I think, an enjoyable experience.

*Please note that due to a bug, you will have to exit the game manually when the teaser screen for Chapter 2 is displayed. Run the game
in windowed mode to make this easier.*

Zip Download

Enjoy!

So... this isn't actually in production?

No, it's not. You can play through the game completely, but it's light on features and it has quite a few bugs. I would have put it in the completed games forums, but it isn't what I'd call "complete," though perhaps just by my own standards. I essentially abandoned it years ago, but I thought people would enjoy it for what it is. If there's a better suited place to put it, I can certainly post there or the thread can be moved. I just wasn't quite sure where to put this; I didn't see any place specifically for abandoned projects.

Primarily a character animator, but would likely help out the background artist with other animations. The characters you see are in the correct resolution and redesign wouldn't be required.

There are two primary characters and 15 auxiliaries. Of the auxiliaries, most are stationary and do not require walk cycles. Due to reasons I'd not like to list here, we'll be needing a high amount of unique gestures mostly with the two main characters.

The game's progress:
Story 100%
Puzzles 100%
Dialog 40%
Coding 40%
Music 20%
Scenes 80%
Characters Designed 85%
Animations 5%

Feel free to ask any more questions, or PM me and we could set up a Skype chat.

AGS Games in Production / "The Eternal Night"

Hey folks,

I'm putting together a little game during my down time at work...about my work. Yes, I work nights at a hotel. Doesn't sound too exciting, right? Well, you never know what might happen in the dead of the night....suffice it to say that things will not remain boring for long!

It won't be the finest piece of work you've ever played; I'm basically just making something small in order to learn the program and how to script. I'm making up all the plot and puzzles as I go, so don't expect masterful storytelling or heavy brain exercising. And MS paint all the way!

That said, it's starting to look fairly good (by my standards :p) and I think I'm going to end up with something pretty fun.  ;D

Without further adieu...SCREENS:

Rough estimate of progress:

Rooms: 80%
Art and animations: 60%
Puzzles: 30%
Story: 40%
Sound: 20%
Music: 0% - Saving the best for last  ;)

Looks like those looking for music have no shortage of options, but I'd still like to offer my services.

I just graduated with a BA in Music Theory and Composition from my state university. While studying, I wrote a number of chamber pieces and large orchestral works, and also provided music for student film and dance projects.

Now that I'm out of school and have a bit more freedom in choosing projects, I'm really eager to finally try my hand at writing game music. After all, it was game music that first inspired me to study composition.

You can find samples of my music and further credentials at myspace.com/justinsparker

Thanks. Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

Hey all.

I've posted here before quite a few years ago, but I got busy with other things and haven't logged in since. Anyway, I thought it was necessary to reintroduce myself.

I've been playing adventure games all my life, since I was about 7 or 8. I was a big time Sierra fan; I played Monkey Island and Loom, but otherwise I wasn't too big into Lucas Arts. I even planned to get into the game industry, but the tragic end of Sierra left me pretty disillusioned and I forgot about it.

I just graduated with a BA in Music Composition. Now that I'm out of school, I'm looking for projects to take up so that I can continue building a portfolio. If any of you folks would like me to write something for you, I'd be happy to oblige. You can listen to few of my pieces at myspace.com/justinsparker

Thanks guys.

Alright...here's a myspace page with my most recent stuff:

http://www.myspace.com/justinsparker

"A Lament for Strings" was just played in concert at the University of Wyoming a few weeks ago.  I hope I'm not tooting my own horn too obviously, but I'm damn proud of the piece.  I've posted a synth recording.

I'll try to post some others in the next few days.  Most of my stuff I've done so far isn't really 'game' music, but hopefully everyone can get the just of the way I write.

Anyway, please tell me what you think.  Thanks.
