Hi,

The new address is:

Is it possible to update the community page to reflect this change please?
Thanks.

Here my humble opinions:

  • We could start by only including with AGS templates with a clear Open Source licence that allows anyone to update it. That way we won't have remorse if anyone (i.e. not the author) is updating it to keep it up to date. So we could start by asking the remaining active template authors to choose a licence for their template.
  • I also think *default* templates are part of the editor, and should be in the editor repository. It is really an awful idea to bundle default templates that do not compile with editor/engine they come with. Making sure every default template do compile could also be part of the automatic AGS code test, if those tests are still in the loop.
  • Keeping an independent repository of available template is also a superb idea, but it takes time to manage it.
  • Many AGS users are not C++/C# wizards, but are completely capable to edit an AGS template, so I expect finding volunteers to update templates will be much easier than finding volunteer to maintain the editor/engine code. So it is mostly about gathering a few motivated volunteers and keep them informed of what are the needs, using either a issue tracker, a mailing list, a wiki page or even a forum topic.

If we remade AGS, should it from a new 2D game engine, or simply an point&click plugin of an already existing 2D game engine? Love2D was quite popular here, but there are many other free 2D engines one could use.
Could Calin Leafshade share his experience about remaking an AGS-like engine (ADORE)?

Congratulation everyone! Looking forward to play your entries.

It runs fine one my desktop. :)
Fantastic work, reminds me of Limbo and Betrayer. The girl is irritably slow, though.
Well, no I did complete all entry and voted, congrats again everybody for putting together all those nice entries!

Song Animals by Emont: Great entry! Very nice interpretation of the theme, and neat production. Well done!
Monster Wants In by Mandle Fantastic audio ambiance, and well execution. Not my kind of game, though.
OCEANSPIRIT DENNIS: The Terror of the Ice Princess by MiteWiseacreLives! My very first OSD game, it was great fun, and... some great frustration to, but I guess that's part of the experience. :-D Don't fix it!
The Man That Only I Can See by Chicky For some reason, it is too slow to be playable on my old netbook, will test it Saturday on my desktop!
Freak Chic by Atavismus, Marion, Yo riso et. al. (I didn't play it before, only help making backgrounds). That was great fun to! I played it in French. But that damn STONE PUZZLE!!! We should polish the game and it will be a neat little one.
Scylla And Charybdis: A Grecian Ship From Olympus U by Eggie Superbe animations and nice character design. I certainly didn't get two thirds of the references, but overall I enjoy the experience.

Well done everybody! I'll vote after playing the promising entry by Chicky.

Then maybe number of words in the longest sentence?
Without counting shorter sentences.
Plus rule stated above.

SOLUTION: Number of words in the message minus number of images in the signature.
