Thanks Gribbler and Stupot+
The mini-games are quite easy and I think they help the player to follow the story and get more involved in the game.

Thanks guys for your positive comments! They help me to keep my enthusiasm for making the game high.
So far, I'm inclined to keep the minigames unskippable.

Hi everybody,

I'm working on this new project called "The Bounty Killer: Tacos Pete in the Land of the Zombie Bandits".
It's a year or so that I'm working on this game in my spare time. So, after finishing the first chapter (out of three) I've decided to post it here. It's a classic 640x480 cartoon-style point and click adventure game with a 3 cursors Sierra-style interface, even though there will be some arcade sequences (like the "fishing mini-game" shown in the picture below).
I know that not everybody likes arcade mini games while playing adventures, so I'm not sure yet whether to allow the player to skip those sequences or not. Any suggestions or critics are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Romeo

The magnifier sprite had an alpha-channel (actually I used the sprite included by monkey in the module) but I never thought to change the backgrounds... then after your advices I saved the backgrounds as TIFF and reimported them. It was enough. Now everything works fine. Nice module!!
Thanks for your answer

Hi,

I'm working on an interactive-book about drawings and I really need a magnifying glass in order to allow the readers to magnify the drawings.
This module looks pretty good for my purpose but I couldn't use it so far... I don't know what's wrong

I followed the example written in the script's Header and I didn't get any error message, the magnifying glass sprite appeared but there's no zoom effect and actually the sprite covers the background.

Does anybody know why? I'm using the last AGS version (3.3.0). Can that be a possible reason? What should I do in this case?

Thank you

Thanks Grim,
I hope the game won't disappoint you. In any case please let me know your opinion about it.

Hi 9cupsoftea,
thank you very much for your appreciation. The game is hard, I know it, but I think the puzzles have a logic so you just have to think for a while to the right move. Anyway there's already a walkthrough available if you need it:

I'd really appreciate if you could post a comment and rate the game after playing it.
Thanks.

Thanks guys for your kind words:
sthomannch: thank you for "excellent game". I'm glad to read that the game went on smoothly.
partydoc: thanks for "great game" and "work of art" and for your comment in the AGS database (thanks Tabata for asking the players to post a comment    ).
Making games with AGS is amusing but it also requires great efforts and a lot of free time. So, it's a reward for me to read your opinions.
About the bugs: I've already fixed all the bugs reported in the forum so the game works fine now (version 1.1), but I don't know if there are more bugs that haven't been reported.
I know that the puzzles were difficult but I think that when the game's atmosphere is nice, the player can take his time to think while listening to some good music.
Kind regards.

Thank you Shadow for this complete review:
There are 9 bugs reported and I've just started fixing them (actually just one until now). It's going to be a hard work...
Anyway, I'd like to know your opinion on how I could improve the game (I mean what hints exactly I could give the players to avoid them to be frustrated while playing). So, if you want you can send me a pm with some advices. I'll try to change what I can.
Cheers and thanks again.

Axxesfun:
I'm really sorry but I've no idea about what's happening with wind power...
1) when you use that power can you ear the wind sound?
2) does the hourglass disappear after some seconds? Or you have to restart the game?

Thanks for the other bugs report.

I think you don't have

the red seeds yet. Try to remember who gave you the black seeds and what she told you about her sons. Then it should be easy go on to get the red berries (Tabata told you what to do).

axxesfun:
good job, but I changed the hieroglyphes code just to avoid the player to discover the name by searching the web. Anyway,
Spoiler
the name of the goddess needed to enter the cave is in the wikipedia's list you've found. Just follow Tabata's instructions.

About the whale hunting
Spoiler
it sounds like a bug. Sorry. One whale should be enough to get your money, but probably you killed the whale while the ship was sinking (or something like that). I hope you saved the game before hunting for whales. Btw, you'll be able to skip next 'ship fight' against a water dragon (which is harder) pressing the 'S' button.

Yes, there are some red herrings but the meteorite isn't one of them... I tried to give the player the chance to interact with many objects and do things he would do if he was "inside the game".
Anyway, I'm glad you like the atmosphere. Thank you vjeepusofthenile: what you wrote about Gilliam and Bosch is the best compliment I've ever received...
Cheers,

Tabata told me about that "glitch" when she tested the game and I was sure I fixed it... I was.
About the point where you're stuck:
Spoiler
I think you need the lightning bud (the one hanging from the tree in Martyn's kitchen garden). If you have the rope it means that you have the earthquake power, so you can shake the tree with earthquake to make the bud fall down. Remember also that is important to talk to all the characters you meet. If you know that you need to go to Venice and that there's a galleon ready to sail away maybe someone at the tavern can help you

Hi Shadow1000,
I'm glad you're enjoying JTH
Thanks for your opinion: the atmosphere in a game is very important for me. I hope you'll finish JTH and you'll rate it (that would be great).
