Hi folks, Sorry to ask a total noob question, but I am having a bit of trouble finding where the "General Settings" area is in the editor pertaining to this post:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=49815.0

I was going to ask on that post but I got a warning pop-up from the forum saying that it was not best to bump it since it was so old, so sorry for creating a new post that has already sort of been covered.

I did also google, search the stock documents, and spent much time looking around every nook and cranny in the editor itself but I cant seem to find anything pertaining to "General Settings", or nothing pertaining to "Multiplied Translucence" of which I was hoping to experiment with.

Perhaps the original post is so old that the settings area has been changed in the current version?

Well just while I am posting this I may as-well ask is it possible for AGS to use other types of alpha blending asides from just levels of alpha. I mean for example, overlay/multiply, even darken/soft light? things of that nature?

EDIT... holy molly twas staring me in the face, top tree thingy...  funny though on document searching for "general options" nothing relevant returns, either googling.. nevermind , found it

No, but there was a AGSBlend plugin that does that: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=41524.0

Also, the alpha options in General Settings is for backwards compatibility only. It does not really give any reasonable blending effects, rather different (and somewhat incorrect) ways to blend images together used by old versions of AGS.

It is possible, sort of, there's an implementation on my outdated draconian edition, you can set the blend mode for all kind of stuff.
But it hasn't been ported to main AGS because I'm not really happy with it (it does work, though). I'm in the process of cleaning up AGS source code from legacy stuff, perhaps when I'm done I'll get back to it.

Hey, thanks again for the help on this, I will definitely have a fiddle with this.. if it ends up being a bit too awkward the alternate might be to use tinted player sprites according to room lighting conditions.. cheers :D
