@ddq5: I know its one of the stupids things. I actually don't approve of that type of feature games however mine is different. This is because there are way less blocks so doing what WHAM said is nice however it's time consuming and a waste after you have unlocked all the blocks.

Also let's all keep in mind that I am still gonna to use the EXP system to level up chr stats.

I also forgot to include that there are command cards on the grid as well as a sword that you can unlock.

Promise I won't post in this thread anymore, but you do realise that you have mentioned an amazing amount of features, that I can't even begin to count as a reader on this thread... Have you any of these written down? I mean these read very complicated... brrr....

But in either way I do need to offer a kudos for keep making games like you do... :-/

Icey

I now keep a note book of "Advance" stuff that I want to try. These are now basic things to me(Spirit Grid, etc...) The Boat battle I can ether A) Get help from Ponch or B) Review his game.

There are a few other features that I have in my book that I don't want to speak about until I am sure it can be done with my current Knowledge.

Implementing this:

http://www.futuregamez.net/ps2games/ffxii/ffxii4.jpg

is a basic thing to you?

I can't WAIT for this game. This is surely going to be your best gane evar!

Icey

17 blocks vs +50 blocks? I think mine works out a lot better for me to make. Plus I am trying to focus on Story this time around.

Icey

All the other blocks are hidden as I stated before. You must use the SGp to unlock new blocks. Also I am changing it to where you gain +1 SGp  per battle instead of per attack dealt.

Most of you may know by now that jjs has released a program that allows you to play you AGS games on a PSP. I was thinking that maybe I could find a way to make that useful for this game. Because most games don't work on the PSP so there is no telling whether or not this OSD game(PC game) will run on the PSP.

P.S. That is not a logo. That is a button to start the PSP game.

Though this is an idea it wont actually be tried until later. I was thinking I could make a side game that is short like the OSD games and it will only run on a PSP. I have the code set up in the game to check to see if you are on WIN or a PSP. If you are running the game on a PC then you will get a error, telling you to run the game on the PSP.

Now here is the thing. I don't know what jjs program runs on. Like does the game run using like linux or something or is the PSP the same as windows? Because if Linux or something the game will work cause like I said before it checks for windows.

Again, another useless tie-in feature and ANOTHER GAME that is going to take away from this. Not like it matters anyway, but still...

So why don't you go in the thread and look?????

Khris

Oh my.
Why would you intentionally cripple a game that might run on both systems?

AFAIK, every AGS game consists of two separate things: a) the engine, b) the game data
Porting "AGS" to another system essentially means porting the engine part, as in making changes to the source code and compiling it to a native executable, in very simple terms. The PSP seems to have a custom "System software", so I'm pretty sure it's neither windows nor linux. Might be linux based.

All of that doesn't matter though, you're again implementing useless shit rather than completing an actual game.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Can't you take a hint after months and months of people telling you to cut the crap?

Icey

I can take a hint. If you read through what I said up there you would know that this comes last. I am not changing anything btw about AGS. I am making a short side game that will run on the PSP. The reason to this is because my OSD2 game wont even make it pass the first line on the PSP with out crashing. Therefore if I make a small side game that involves less things then it will work. I don't need this taking up my time at finishing the games neither.

Also I was going to check but whether see for myself. Because all I did was make that button on the menu. If it doesn't work then I don't care. I'll just remove the button from there. It's that easy.

Icey

Finally I can release the Demo. There a few graphics missing from the game cause I haven't made them yet. I am aware of the spelling errors as well. There is no Music btw as I couldn't think of songs to fit the demos. I will play around with this later on however so the demo won't be so silent.

Just let me know what you think.

What you need to do is not make a side game, AT ALL. Just fucking focus on ONE GAME and FINISH THIS DAMN GAME! Put all your effort into it, please! Spend more than 2 weeks on it! And you seriously wanted to charge people to play this stuff? Every thread you start always promises some stupid, stolen feature that doesn't even work and then goes to promote another game that you already have "planned" out. JUST MAKE ONE FUCKING GOOD, LONG GAME FOR ONCE!

I'm saying this because you show potential; Your art is rather good, and the ambition is there, but you need to take your time man! Even if you manage to create an awesome game, everyone here will probably not even play it just because of shit like this. Think about it...

Also, why, for fucks sake, would you even want to try putting a game on PSP, when you can barely make a fully functional game with AGS? Plus, you do know that the PS Vita is coming soon right? It's going to blow PSP out of the water, which will still leave your estimated percent of people to even play OSD on PSP still at 0%....

Just focus on one game, and ONE GAME ONLY!!!! Stop adding useless features that we will only use once. Seriously, what's the point of that Spirit Grid leveling system? Unless your game is going to be 20+ hours and offer replay value I highly suggest that you not even use this at all. In fact, don't add anything unless you can actually make it work. That's called half-assing, which is what I've seen so far in every single thing you've released.

That's the biggest problem with these stupid add on gimmicks you keep using to promote your games. Your games don't even have enough care and attention or substance to warrant the use of them. What's the point of even making an RPG/Adventure game if you aren't going to make it worth the player's while to use the key game elements? If you have a leveling system, I want a fucking full game with a story that shows you put your work into it and tried your best so that it still FEELS LIKE A GAME. So far I feel like your games are just featuring some useless add on no one will ever use. And now you're riding off OSD's popularity around here, which if you didn't know.....

IT WAS A GODDAMN JOKE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

I'm only saying this because I did the same thing too, and I know where this kind of thing ends up, but seriously you have this whole forum pleading to you NOT TO DO STUPID SHIT ANYMORE! That's why I took a hiatus from AGS. I dug myself into a huge hole here, and I wasn't making anything to my full potential. You might say, "Who cares what you people think? This is my life! I'm going to work at Square Enix blah blah blah..." but this community is everything when you're making games! We tell you what needs to be fixed, how to help you with coding, critique on your art... everything that is essential to a game. You're lucky to find a community like AGS has here anywhere else on the internet.

I'm probably wasting my time typing this, but you need to stop and think. What happens when no one here cares anymore? Are you going to go somewhere else and do the same thing?

I'm just waiting for a ban-able offense so we can be done with this malarkey. Believe you me, I won't be able to hit that "Report to moderator" button fast enough.

Jeeze, R4L.  You shouldn't repress your emotions like that!

I've been an AGSer for over ten years now.  I remember Squalman.  I remember RPGCreator.  I even remember AndyPenis.

You've got them all beat, Icey.  I mean it.  You seriously blow my mind.

Snake

Isiah, I am just a cunt-hair away from locking this, fix the link please.

Do not beat around the bush or jerk me off in the dark. There are far better things to look at in this forum besides this bullshit. Fix the link before 2:00 or it's locky locky time and you will not see this unlocked. EVER. Last time.

We live in the same time zone so don't fuck around. It's already quarter after 1.

Icey

I..didn't know there was no link...

btw snake I was up really late so I didn't get up to like 12:00. So I would have fixed this sooner.

100%

Snake

Not another peep out of you until you fix the link. Read my previous post for further details.

And don't forget Flukeblake. He was my favorite. He actually turned out to be a good forum member once he got a little older and settled down a bit. It's why I hold out hope for Icey.

And R4L, what the hell do you mean OSD is a joke? It's a way of life, man! It's my reason to exist!  ;)

Icey

Finally I was able to get the link : http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1468

@R4L:After or during this game I plan to put my all back into finishing PMQ.Legends. However it will take me kinda longer now cause school is about to start back up. btw everything I said so far (Spirit grid, Service) works I tested it in the demo. The only thing I need to check is the PSP thing and now I am having second thoughts about that due to what you said.

Darth Mandarb

Guys... seriously, you're all wasting your breath with the "do it this way" or "please just do this".  It's valid advice (don't get me wrong) but you're just pissin' in the wind for all the good it will do.

It's ironic 'cause I'm wasting my breath saying "stop the advice" because it'll just continue (and continue to be ignored) but hey, too much more and I'm locking this thread so it's really a win/win for me.

But I have to be Sith/Moderator here... STOP WITH THE OFF-TOPIC and/or advice-giving-insult-making posts!!  This thread deserves a chance to be locked 'cause of the author, not because of the rest of us!!
