I have Crossover and an Intel Mac.  I did a couple searches and found that this does work, however, I am running into a couple questions.  In order to install AGS I need the .NET Framework 2.0.  So, I go and download that.  Now, in order to install .NET I need Internet Explorer 5.01.  If i download IE, which operating system do I download it for?  Are all of these prerequisites required to run AGS through Crossover or is there an easier way?  Thanks.

Ok.  So, I am downloading the .NET Framework 2.0 Software Development Kit.  The first one I tried was the Redistributable Package.  This download looks like it will take a few hours as opposed to the few minutes the first one took.  Hopefully this will work.

To give back to the AGS community, I can get you free, full versions of commercial software. Recently, Paint Shop Pro X, and eXPert PDF Pro 6. Please PM me for details.

Just FYI Trent, the AGS Mac build is only a build of the run-time engine not the editor. a.grajirena is trying to install the editor on a Mac using Windows emulation software.

From what I understand about CrossOver (which is nothing), you're not actually running Windows via a virtual machine, you're just running enough emulation to support the programs themselves, right? In that case I would say that you would need to install IE based upon your OS (which is Mac).

AFAIK, the only real requirement here would be for you to have the .NET 2.0 Framework installed. But again, as I said, I know nothing about CO or what it's actually doing.

I am new to macs and new to running windows apps on them also.  As far as I know you are correct with your understanding of Crossover.  Ideally I would like to set up a virtual machine, but for now I only have CO.  I downloaded the other .NET Framework package which said the first .NET Framework was a prerequisite for it.  So, I downloaded IE 7 and when I try to install it I get a message that says "Unable to find a volume for extraction.  Please verify that you have proper permissions."  Soo, I am taking a break :)

Thanks so far though, hopefully someone runs this with CO and can give me some direction.
