monkey island 4. stuck in the swamp

I got stuck in the swamp in MI4. I follow the clock directions and end up at the fence. when the conversation ends (i wrote evereything down) i follow the clock and this portal thing sucks me to the shore. I keep following the clock and end up in thet gate-conv. (im still thee past Guybrush). I's it a glitch, or am i doing something wrong?

You could also uninstall EMI, put the CD back into its case, put it back on your shelf and never touch it again. That is what i have done.

I have it for the PC and PS2, and have never finished it. The puzzles, in my opinion made no sense and i said heck with it.

edit: maybe the puzzles do make sense, but that i just suck at the game. I had to look up hints for many of the puzzles.

I couldn't finish the game... Whenever I was fighting LeChuck, some specific moves were causing my computer to freeze. I was not able to fix it very quickly and I gave up.

As for your problem...
If you are definitely sure it's a glitch, try loading a game before you entered the swamp or something like that.

I've played through it once again yesterday

After you receive the skeleton key, try to unlock the gate. Guybrush won't do it because he thinks the other Guybrush is Pegnose Pete in disguise.
Talk to yourself and ask some question that starts with "If you're really me ..."
The other Guybrush will then prove he's indeed you and you can unlock the gate. The game should take over from there, and after the other Guybrush is gone, the clock will direct you north, through the gate.

i passed the swamp and LeChuck ''GUYNAPED'' m. I got to the monkey city
and now i'm fighting a buntch'o'monkeys. could someone write a help-thing about witch move is stronger than witch?

absolutly not it changes with each install (to avoid people cheating to see the end )
Just write them down thats how i did it

Yeah. I made a little diagram. It was a pentagon type affair, if you're interested. The game is sort of like Rock,Paper,Scissors except with 5 moves.

Well, this was on the PS2 version. They may have changed it slightly from the PC version.

That's right, every stance beats two others and is in turn weaker than the two remaining.

Btw, it's easier to use two diagrams, one to show which stance defeats which and another to write down the combos to switch between them.

I just discovered a fun cheat how to fight monkeys in different areas.
1. Give a banana to the monkey you want to fight.
2. go to the desiered area.
3. Talk to the monkey.
