But fingers dont have bo....

Then chris realise he was a fool

When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.

Howdy!

Greetings from a London cyber cafe.  This week flew by insanely fast.  There's so much to talk about and so many in-jokes to confuse people with.  All in all, it was great to meet some of you again and meet some of you for the first time.  What really struck me is that we are all, for the most part, very different people with something very unique in common.  It's very satisfying to get together 1-2 times a year and discuss our mutual interest.

Some highlights off the top of my head:

1. Going to a karaoke bar with Creed and Layabout
2. Rain.  Lots of rain.
3. CJ insisting that fingers didn't have bones.
4. Iqu describing the various substances he has inhaled through various orifices.
5. Our 3-4 hours of fun with glow sticks
6. Mentally scarring the Pizza Hut staff for life.
7. M0ds falling out of a tree
8. Dark Stalkey's frisbee disc of DOOM.
9. The britteneers taking me out for my first traditional british curry. mmMmmm
10. CJ aiming the projectile tony hawk motorbike toy at his mouth and pushing the button.

I have pictures, lots and lots of lovely pictures, but they'll have to wait until tomorrow when I get home.  Thanks for the great time, gang!  Hopefully I'll be able to join you again next year.

Thanks to m0ds for organising it, thanks to everyone for coming, and sorry to MattGoble -- I know, I forgot the AGS Annuals. By the time I realised, it was too late; hopefully somebody else can look after them until Mittens!
I'm sorry I missed the curry, hope it was a spicy one ;)

And Haddas, I have to say that's a pretty impressive bit of photoshopping... I dread to think what else you can manage...

:)

Matt Goble

Hey Chris,

No worries about the annuals, I believe M0Ds picked them up to take.

Curry was very good, although Layabout, Dark Stalkey and Iqu regretted going for the Madras I believe!  JetXL and I both had Chicken Jalfrezzi, although I think it got the better of one of us...  ;)

One of the best moments for me was Chris demonstrating how dangerous Happy Meals toys could be by firing a spring loaded Tony Hawk bike into his mouth and cutting his lip - classic.

A fantastic weekend.

Haddas

Miez was one of the really late arrivals.

Miez

 ;D "Damn, I was sure I brought a tent..."

Chicky

Wow that's awesome haddas, you're getting rather snappy with the photoshop skillz.

here you go:

- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

@Haddas:  That is the most amazing Photoshopping that I have ever seen.  I noticed that some of the grass was changed (for example, under the picnic table), but amazing none the less.  Please, master, teach me!

magintz

Very nicely done Haddas, but what about all the lasers we had at brittens?

We all ordered Vindaloos, and I didn't regret a thing ;)

Miez

Just wanted to mention to Matt that he did a truly great job with the annual. Very professional, looks great ... thanks a bundle. :)

strazer

Hey, just got back from my extended weekend in London.
It was good to see you're all just as nice as on the forums. Sorry for my almost total lack of interaction, I'm kinda shy around new people (especially the ones whose language I haven't quite mastered...).
But I had a great time listening to your conversations and I'm looking forward to meeting you all again.

Custard, I totally forgot to thank you again for the tent space, so Thanks man, very much appreciated. :)

And the AGS annual is a great souvenir to have at home. Thanks Matt!

Was this the 'yellow' lasershow I heard about over a pint last night? :o

No. but now that you mention lasers...

Thanks people. 'twas nothing really. Just basic photoshopping. copy tool and healing tool and some low opacity brushes. Try it yourself, it's not that hard. It's like making music with Ejay really. You can look cool making music with it, until you notice that so can everyone else.

And thanks Matt. This CD contains lots of those things that I've been "meaning to get" but have never gotten around to do so. This'll come in handy.

Thanks for the errr.... cookie

Well, let's face it ... there were some particularly scary people around, so I'm not surprised at all... ;D

Layabout

All the mitteneers leaving london today are ok. Except they have to make changes to their plans.
I am Jean-Pierre.

Matt Goble

Glad to hear no-one was really caught up in the London bombings today - I recieved a phonecall from M0Ds asking if I had heard from Dave Gilbert.  I assume someone managed to make contact and he's ok?

Strazer, don't worry mate, we all completely understand, it's pretty awe inspiring meeting CJ for the first time  ;D Seriously, it was great for you to come and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.  I know it can be pretty mad meeting so many new faces, even more so when you have to talk in a second language - some of us are still trying to master out first!

Thanks for the comments about the Annual - I'm glad it all worked out considering how disorganised I had been.  I will update the topic over the weekend with full details for everyone else.  Magintz, any chance you can sort us out with the group photo?

Take it easy guys.

magintz

sure thing. I'll try to sort it out tommorow. I'll add it to my to do list right away.

Hi all.  As you might have seen in the other thread, I made it back to NYC safe and sound.  I had no idea any of this crazy stuff was even happening until I landed.  A sad end to an otherwise fantastic trip.  Anyway, I have oodles of pics but I'm way too jetlagged and wonky to upload them now.  I'll get them up tomorrow.  Promise.

I did say please...  And just for the record I was referring to the non-laser photos.  The lasers were nice, but I was so much more impressed by the others...
