Ok after some time I could finally solve how the "petals around the rose" worked. Yes, it sounds lame, but I couldn't do it the first time I played it. Now I think I have it, except for the fact that I didn't at all think of the relation to the petals around a rose. I just thought about it in a mathematical way.
Can anyone explain me how the solution is related to the petals around a rose??

Spoiler

My solution to the game was: (sum of the odd dices) - (amount of odd dices)

Spoiler

It is the solution, but can you explain why it is? You know, in relation to the name and all?

:)
Still here.

No, really, I can't tell how it relates to a rose and its petals. :(
Can you tell me?

It doesn't relate to a rose and its petals...
It just shares a similiarity to a game called "Petals Around the Rose". :P

As far as I've noticed, kairus was actually talking about Petals around the Rose :)
Still here.

Ah, sorry, then.
In that case:

All odd dice have a dot in the middle. That is the rose. The dots around the middle one are the petals. Simply count them, and you have succeeded!

Sorry if I misunderstood, anyway. :P

Oh, thank you Al Ninio, that explains everything. I'm sure I'd never have thought of it.
