My character, need C&C

This is just a quick dub over Eric's template, I'd say it's an ok start for someone with 0 to nil art skill.

Alright last time...

That's quite good. Nice character. But think about his shirt in the side view.  You should see at least a tiny bit of the green worm that's on the front. And in the back view his feet look a little weird. I know it's like that in Eric's template that you used, but to me it just doesn't look quite alright. But except from these two points, really good.

nice character. But I think that it's to obvious that you painted over the sprites that  eric gifted us with. I think that you should at least change the shape of his head a bit so it wouldn't be to obvious. But hey it's you character and the sprites were actualy posted for exactly this use, so it's your desidgion to make...

I feel a bit guilty basically ripping off Eric's base, so I made this one from scratch. I need some pointers on shading however... :'(

I may post a paintover later today, it depends.  I'm a little busy...

Edit:  Can you give some more info about this guy?  Which one should I give crits on?

I think he looks quite good, but the side view is too small:



I did a quick paintover:



- thickened his arms a little
- made the side view taller
- added some very basic shading
