has anyone ever made some money off making a game with ags?

Yes, both the commerical games made at least a small amount of money, that is Hauntings of Mystery Manor by Ghostlady and The Adventures of Fatman by Ionias.

Don't forget Yahtzee with his Special Edition 5 Days a Stranger. I don't know if he made a -profit- as such but he got $5 from me at least.

Well, if I'd zip all my unfinished games together and release commercially as a "loser pack" for laughs, this could even generate some profit...

Still, making games is a timewasting hobby. How much income could all these nights hours produce at real job!

Making AGS-games and making any profit is a myth*.... an utopic dream of almost any AGSer and I'm not sure, but no-one hasn't made it come true yet.

Only one who is currently able to make big bucks via AGS is probably CJ. But he prefers love to money, as it seems. Which is great.

If i was walking through a computer store, and saw AGS in box form on a shelf, i would pick it up and wouldn't even look at the price.

I'd be like 'Hell yes!!! i can now make the adventure game of my dreams' this price is so worth it.

Same here.
In my opinion; making AGS games might be helpful to gain experience if you want to work in the professional game industry. Also if you make a great AGS game which won AGS Awards, etc. ; then it could ease you to find a sponsor, or join a professional team as designer, if you live in a country where game developing industry is just at the beginning point. (I got already some game developing job offers from some game studios which saw my AGS games in my country.)

I need to move to your country. Every American game company would go "You Suck!" and hang up/slam door/rip up letter.

Step one: Post on AGS forums, ask if anyone wants to join your team of artists, story writers and animators. Don't forget to mention that you will be too busy leading the team to do any of the afforementioned items. Offer each team member 5%, unless there are a lot, then a lower number like 3%. This plan is foolproof.

Step two: Lead team through the game-making process, use an iron fist to assure deadlines are met.

Step three: PROFIT!!
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

well, according to FreeGames Magazine Australia, a lot of freeware game developers give their game for free because they made it to test their skills, or as a hobby, which is a total waste of time.
