Hi.
I don`t know if anyone can help but here goes.
I received a copy of adobe 'Photoshop elements 2.0' in the software bundle that came with my laptop.
I never bothered using it cos I use Jasc 'paintshop pro 9' but I keep hearing people rave about photoshop.
This is my problem. On inserting the disk I was horrified to be presented with a box to enter my serial number into.
I know I had the serial number on the cd sleve but I think I may have inadvertantly....um....um....thrown it away. :-[
This must have happened when I put the disk into a hard case for my cd rack.
I've been to the Adobe web site but no joy.
Can anyone help me get it working.
Thanks Jay.

Nothing to cry over. As far as I know, Photoshop Elements isn't mainly a paint package but rather made to correct contrast and other stuff in your photos. It's lacking a lot of functionality (see a list here) so you'll probably be sticking with Paintshop Pro for your art needs anyway.

Just for cases of troubles like these (and some not like these) there are millions of websites offering wide varieties of high quality cracks. Just google "Photoshop elements 2.0 crack OR serial".

Photoshop Elements is actually fairly decent. It just lacks the more technical aspects of Photoshop (advanced layer support, advanced image processing options, decent CYMK support, etc).

It still does everything else, though.

Regarding your lack of a serial number; beyond looking for a crack or a serial-number keygen, I fear the CD will only be of use as a coaster. :(

I have Photoshop Elements 2.0 (I think...) and I've been perfectly happy with it, apart for one time when I wanted to fiddle with an alpha layer but couldn't access that. I've seen the newest, though (4.0 is it?) and that was horrible.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

<Calin> Ishmael looks awesome all the time

OOooh! It worked. ;D
Thankyou all for your help.
And thankyou Lionmonkey. I typed in exactly what you wrote within Google and got a serial number with minimal effort.
However. If I wish to register with Adobe will the serial number I now have cause problems?

Jay.

Khris

Definitely. Don't register.

Wide varieties of malware and porn links, you meant?

Extremely bad suggestion. Do not do it. Well, you did, but everyone else, don't do it. I still doubt if you didn't get more than you asked for.

I mean, if you didn't do it already and bothered to post here instead, then crack/serial world is most likely unknown to you.
That basically means that I can bet reasonable amount of money on fact that first crack/serial site you find like this, comes with adware and trojan viruses.  A big flashy button with "click here to download your serial", a little javascript or activeX, and good-old-fashioned what-just-happened...?!

Let me say something:
If you're going for cracks or serials via search engine, you'd better know damn well what you're doing.
All sane people search for cracks and serial keys from P2P software, where you can search for a TEXT file, which by default cannot have viruses and is quick to download. If it's an exe file -- keygen, skip it.

Get Limewire, eMule, DC++ or any other widely used P2P thingy -- OR -- simply search for torrent of PS Elements and usually, torrentsearch sites have comments section on torrent, where usually someone asks for serial aswell. This takes a bit of luck to find, but P2P is surefire method.

I know that this is not a good thing to say in AGS Forums, but I still had to do it.
It's somewhat like parents giving condoms to teenage kids... Better be safe than sorry.

And yes, Arr!

Everything is ok....I hope.
I didn`t have to download anything.
I just went to the site, clicked what I wanted, and presto, a new page opened up with a serial number.
I wrote it down and typed it into photoshop elements when prompted.
Thanks for the warning though and the suggestion of P2P software.
