When I first heard he was going to be Dr Who I was like, "Oh the guy from 28 Days Later" and I had no idea he was ALSO the guy from Shallow Grave!

He looks so different now
"This must be a good time to live in, since Eric bothers to stay here at all"-CJ also: ACHTUNG FRANZ!

I've never heard of the guy, so thats a good thing. Seeing as most Doctors are nobodies to begin with... in fact the only other thing I cen remember Peter Davison playing was that pig/cow-thing who wanted to be eaten in Hitchhikers Guide...

Meowster

Doctor Who looks like Jesus, as portrayed in many paintings and pools of vomit outside of nightclubs.

Never watched "28 Days Later", then? Or "The Second Coming" - which also boasts the involvement of the new series' producer?

The "Who" stands for "Who Cares" :-p

lol.. I was never a big fan of comics, but apparently Doctor Who has a big cult following and it's about time travel or some teleportation of some kind.. I don't even remember.. Wasn't there a show awhile ago?

Actually, the comics are merely one of many spin-offs from the TV show, which ran from 1963 to 1989 and had around 700 episodes; there was also a TV movie in 1996, as well as two theatrically released (at least in the UK) 60s films which stared none other than Peter Cushing in the title role.

Not a massive fan of the show myself, largely due to the fact that I've only seen about three episodes, quite some years ago, but I can definately see the appeal; cheesy, with very low production values (we're talking spaceships made of cardboard here), but with plenty of funky ideas and characters.  Interestingly, Douglas Adams wrote four episodes, two of which ('Shada' and 'The City of DEATH'; emphasis mine, I apologise) apparently served as the starting point for a lot of the ideas expressed in his really rather good Dirk Gently novels.

So now you know.

LGM

For someone who's not a massive fan, you sure know alot about it.

AGA

Not really. I knew most of that stuff too, and I've never seen a single episode. Doctor Who is/was a massive part of British TV culture...
