Buckethead

hey,

When I was bored I drew this male character. I thought I might use it in the MAGS competition but I have too little time. But the guy is still hanging on my harddisk so I thought I could post it here for some critics. He doesn't really needs to be something, I just drew out of nothing and this came out.

I'm quite happy with him. If I think about the first character I posted then this is quite an improvement. And I did it all myself to get this result.

What do you guys think?  :)

It works. Maybe have more contrast on the skin and shading to bring out the chin a bit more.
Side view looks a bit unbalanced. It looks a bit like he's leaning on something with his back. So you should move the upper body..

ThreeOhFour

He is a big improvement on the first character you posted - here's a couple of things I'd change on the front view -

- Changed eyes. You don't necessarily have to see the whites of a persons eyes. This solves the old looking one way problem. Also gave him a nose.
-Arms should come down to about mid thigh level, and in a standing pose should be more relaxed.
-Changed shape of legs, shoes and torso a bit.

Good luck!

He looks quite good, even though his feet look a little strange and his hair looks like a cap. Also his pose reminds of that of a cowboy ready on the draw ;). But other than that it,s fine.

Evil

Too many people think that straight legs are wrong and tend to bend the legs out too far. But the change is too small for such a small character like this. Fixed the cowboy arms and shortened the neck a pixel.

Still sort of lanky, but when moving it shouldn't look too bad.

I actually like the original sprite the most. I don't know, maybe it has more character in it than the edits. Also the edits make him look more wimpy :)

thanks for all the help and edits! I like his face and arms better now. But I must be one of the too many people who doesn't like straight legs. They just looks kinda strange to me. I think I'll go with Ben's edit. Evil's edit is indeed a little too wimpy. Although I don't have plan for the guy yet , I know I don't want him to be like that.

Anway, thanks again for the help, I'll see what I'll make of it and post that later.  :)
