I'm making a rubber tree as an object for Caribbean Mysteries. I've searched around the web for images but most of them don't show the top of the tree so I'm just taking a wild guessing here.

If you wonder that the green and the white things on the trunk is I can tell that those are linchen (and possibly mosses). I took those elements from a photo to give it more detail.
Nice tree
I found this picture by putting rubber tree in google:
So it doesn't quite look like a rubber tree, the trunk should get thinner and the top is different. Also try rounding the base a bit so it's not square.
In german, a rubber tree is called "Gummibaum."
Try this search: http://images.google.de/images?q=gummibaum&hl=de
Huh... a rubber tree? What the hell is that? At first I thought you meant a birch, but it's rather different.
Anyway, try typing "rubber tree" line in the Google browser and check out the first result: http://www.rubbertree.org/. ;)
Skruwy, a rubber tree is a real tree from which you can get liquid latex which you make rubber from, that's why it's called a "rubber tree". By the way, the site wasn't very helpful for getting my object better (I beg my pardon for criticing people again but I had to say this).
Guybrush: Thanks, for the pic! I'll try make a new version as quickly as possible.
Khrismuc (Off-topic): So "baum"'s Germany for tree? I was always wondering why the Wonderbaum is shaped like a pinetree (even if there is other scents than pine).
Yep, Baum is tree. In Germany, they are called "Wunderbaum", that would translate to miracle tree :) I don't know why they are called that, though.

Take it easy Mats, it was only a joke. :)
Seriously, you probably meant something, which in Polish is called "kauczukowiec", "drzewo kauczukowe" (kauczuk = rubber ~ latex) and
Hevea brasilensis as well.

Hope it'll be useful.
In Portuguese this kind of tree is called "seringueira". I looked for this word in Google Images and found some links:

I like your drawing, Mats, but I think you just have to change the leaves of your tree. Then it'll be even better! :)
Ok, here's a new version based on the pic Guybrush Peepwood showed me:
This time, it's not drawn from scratch in paint but handdrawn and scanned.Ã, Before anyone complaines about the leaves don't look like this in reality, read this: I'm not doing a realistic game, I'm making a cartoony style game.
Skurwy, it's ok, I forgive you. It's just that I don't see the jokes sometimes in sarcasm and therefore I easiley fall for them.
Well, what do you think? Is it good enough?
I think its cute!! But seriously what is the green and white stuff?
That's a lot better ;D Good job!
and ^ he already explained in his first post :=
It could be mould. ;)
No, no, no, Alias. I'll quote what I said earlier:

Looks quite good. :) I like the style too, rather cute. If it were me, I'd probably darken the leaves a bit more - they're a bit bright... I would've added some twigs too and have the foliage come off the leaves rather than the branches, but I'm a stickler for detail and realism ;)Ã,Â
