This is the main character from my new game seen here: http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=15143.0
So far i have only started on the face. It started as Erics Template but i modified it a little. I really need his hair fixed on side and back, i also need some hints on how to make it more serious less cartoony. Paintovers definatly welcome.

Gilbert

I didn't read much on the game's thread, bit it's like some serious game idea similar to RON right?
In that case I suggest the characters need not be drawn so seriously detailed,Ã,  but in a simple style easy for people to follow and contribute (like the RON characters).
It's been proven that you may not really need seriously good and detailed graphics for a serious game to be great (ever played Pleurghburger ?), especially when you want your series of games to follow the RON system of development.

Okay forget that part. But how can i improve the side hair.

Barbarian

On the front view it looks like he has ears and a bit of a "sideburns", but on side-view, there's no ear and no sideburn.. maybe add those it may improve the side-view more?  The middle-view, I don't know what that is really.
Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
Mongol General: "That is good."

The middle one is the back of the head. Unless there is any glaring flaws you can see this shall be the final.

I now need ideas on what this guy should wear. You can read a history of hi in the Knightsbridge thread.

LGM

He needs either a black trenchcoat.. Or a Parka.. Or some sort of long coat.. With black jeans and a belt.. I dunno.. Typical dark cop/detective appearal.
You. Me. Denny's.

Johnny Odd

He should be one of two polar opposites imo - either the smart gangster looking guy, or the scuffy, denim clad bum. What do you think?
Eagles may fly high, but badgers don't get sucked into jet engines.

Two versions - with and without coat, as I wasn't very happy with the way it turned out. I've gone for a kind of smart-casual look. What do you think?

I've also done a bit of work around the eyes, and added a little grey to his hair - reading his backstory, I thought he looked a bit young as is.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.

[Cameron]

Trench coats are way to hard to animate so i have gone for the smart casual look. At first i gave him a white shirt and tie and he just looked like i high detailed Griff.

LGM

Now it looks like he's wearing a muscle-shirt.. Give him some ruffels and make the shirt look more loose.. Other than that.. Good shtuff

I made the top a little more comfy fitting.

big brother

I would go with much smaller sprites, like those used in FOA. They will be easier to animate while still conveying the realism you want. The guy you have right now looks kind of generic and cartoony. If you want to stick with what you have, I'd definitely up the contrast a notch.

DragonRose

I'd have to agree with big brother.Ã,  It's an awesome sprite, but it looks kind of... cute? Cartoony? And it would be a royal pain to animate.

I did a five minute paint over of an FOA sprite, using your design for a guide.

That's just to get an idea about how it would look.Ã,  However, if you do choose to go with the original sprite, please please PLEASE lower the pecs.Ã,  You've put the bottom at the height where the top of the pectoral muscles would be.Ã,  The line should be drawn about halfway between the shoulder and the elbow, and the breastbone shading should line up with the elbow.

Three second edit. I moved the pecs down.Ã,
