New Main Chara (Now with Morbid-ness!!)

Ok, so messing around doodling, I drew up some pretty cool new character concepts for The Darksiders.
So I tried to see if I could convey them into CG.
So heres Idalo, as he will be!

Critique my naffness!!

I REALLY like it, infact its the best character art ive seen in a while. I think that almost everything is perfect with it, but (always a but) the area where the shirt splits at the bottom seems a little of center, move it left.

I would have to back up everything Chicken said. Might look good if you add a line on his shirt along with the buttons. I think it'll give the little extra level of detail. I might also be completely wrong.

The first one looks like a 70's sailor.

The second one looks like a dick tracey detective.

I guess it depends on what he is supposed to be in your game!

Are you using finalToon, Brazil Toon, or Ink n' Paint?

He's sposed to be a detective, but the new ones meant to be washed up and kinda Gil from the simpsons like.

And to the last question, no, no and no.
I use Real Draw for all my graphics, though some may be done on moho (for instance complex characters)

I definatley like the new characters more. He seems to have more... Well... CHaracter to him, as opposed to the other, who was a bit bland. I don't really have too much critique on the new character, he looks pretty amazing. Hopefully he'll animate well!

i like it although it looks like it'd be harder to animate than the original. also, some of the hat is lost to the dark background. can you do a purple bg so we can get a proper look at him?

The new version's very good, but it looks more like a cool Jason King style 70's detective/playboy, than a washed up 'Gil' kind of guy. Or maybe that's just me.

Does this mean there's a new 'dead Idalo', and if so what does he look like? I really like the current ghost version, but it makes less sense, if you're going to change his look while he's alive.

The dead guy looks like Raziel from "Legacy of Kain" in noir disguise...
