This is my second game on AGS. And this time I should actually be able to post it! This is a short 3-4 minute experience about the urban legend Polybius. It was made for a school project, and I made it in about 4 days. I am very open to criticism! Thank you for playing. <3

Please add at least a picture of the game, check the forum board rules.

rattusrattus

Yeah I did add an image but it doesn't seem to be working. Either way, I kind of regret posting seeing the other games people have been posting on this board. Sorry! Feel free to delete. I can't figure out how to do that.

We welcome all games, big or small, bad or good, as long as they are made with AGS. We even want them in our Database.

As for the images, you need to post an url inside the img brackets, linking to a webpage that hosts such pictures. Until recently, imgur was a good choice for this, but I'm not sure if it still is.

rattusrattus

I will do that when I get home and if this is still up. I'm unable to right now. Thank you. I apologize again. I'm so embarrassed.

I played it. I thought it was pretty nice, especially for a school project. If I were your teacher I'd probably ask for sources, and that's common outside of school, too. Like, where did you get your sounds, music, game engine. So I'd have tagged on a credits page at the end, or as an option to choose from the start screen.

You use sound nicely to create atmosphere and emotion. The switching between text screens and interactivity gives a sort of documentary feeling, and I also liked that you have added a couple of things the player can actually do.

Dog, coins.

There's no need to be embarrassed about this.

@rattusrattus Sorry, I should have written it more nicely. Thanks for adding images, it makes it easier to remember when browsing the games which is which.

Very interesting thing you made, and good use of sound too!

Spoiler
I think that after the end the screen goes blank forever, not sure if that was intended, I thought it could loop to the beginning where you start the story and it would still work too, but maybe it would drive the player crazy...

Solid one, and the style is very good. Please keep creating!

@eri0o
It's okay, thank you for correcting me. I meant to quit the game at the end but I guess it doesn't work as well on web lol. The looping idea is cool. Thank you for the advice.

@heltenjon
Thank you. I just felt embarrassed for announcing my game when relatively it took much less effort and is of lower quality than most projects posted on this board. I did not realize this before posting. I will keep creating but I won't announce it here next time lol. Sorry.

Thank you both so much for playing! And also thank you for taking the time to reply to this post.

eri0o

No no no, please, keep posting, I was an ass in my writing, I am sorry for that.

You managed to make the art in your game consistent, which is a great feat!

Spoiler
About the web, I guess I need to think how it should behave when a game ends, I will think about this...

On the contrary, please do announce it. We have thousands of games in our database. They vary considerably in size, scope, style and quality. And while we celebrate the gems, we also want to include all who create. Your game isn't bad, it's just short. And it shows some talent, which I hope you can use on longer projects in the future.

Since it's hard to convey tone or intent with text, and to avoid similar situations in the future, I'd please ask that people wait until a moderator responds to any board violations, however slight, or contact a moderator through PM. If you simply must comment, perhaps a helpful nudge towards the rules thread might be more appropriate. :)

Anyhow, I'm glad to see things have been sorted out.

EDIT: Having just played the game, I'd agree with @eri0o and @heltenjon. There's a lot of promise in how you've set up the story, and the visuals and sound work well. I was all set to see what happened when I put a coin into the Polybius cabinet... I guess I'll have to wait for the sequel!
