VampireWombat

Well, I've hit the inevitable part where I begin to question if my game will be worth finishing or not. I'm going to try to find some kind of inspiration. If I don't, then what I'll have will be mediocre at best.

I also had a lot of new work come in since telling heltenjon I was working on this again. So now I'm cramming at the last minute. This probably won't be more than a proof of concept, but we should have something in, at least.

VampireWombat

I have too much left to do and not really enough time to do it. Maybe if I had 4-6 more working hours than I do I could make something somewhat worthwhile. Good luck to those still working on their games.

Sorry to hear! I wasn't sure myself if I would be able to finish, awfully busy these last couple days. But it looks like I might be able to release something small today, certainly not what I first envisioned though.

Stupot

Is anyone in the market for a short extension?

That would be nice. Personally I could use it. I'm running into some road blocks. I don't think I'll be figuring it out today.

No worries. Shall we say 3 days?

@jfrisby Those are some beautiful screenshots. I can't wait to play it.

Thank you @Stupot . We wouldn't have made it for midnight anyway. I've gotten a lot done in the past twenty-four hours, but my perfectionism is slowing me down. That and not cutting things out of the game like I should have done. Now maybe we can keep at least most of heltenjon's script.

Here's what I got done in the last 24 hours, not including sketches for scenes and props that I still need to get to.

heltenjon

@pell Love that image! I burst out laughing, seeing the designs.  :-D

@jfrisby Now that I know I failed to see the connections between games the last time, I now think I see even connections that probably aren't even there. Look forward to playing it.

(laugh) Welcome to MAGS! That's pretty much par for the course.

Good luck to you! The world's greatest Stewpot Stupot really wants your game, so you got those hours and more. And the rest of us want it, too! Go Chupacabra!  (nod)

Kitty Trouble

Something weird happened to me. After I entered the 2nd room past the lasers, and then did so again with the 2nd character, then switched back to the first character, I was unable to walk around anymore. I figured out that the walk function had switched to the right mouse button instead of the left button. I was also unable to left click to select inventory items anymore. Whatever the problem was, it persisted after a save + load. But I wasn't able to replicate it after restarting the game.

That's very weird. Hopefully it won't repeat. I'll check the game to see if I can replicate it and post a fix before the end of the submission time. If you have any further details, that'll help too!

Now, with his very own game: Alien Time Zone

Perpetuall

Thank you. I can't promise anything epic, I still have a lot of other things going on this week, but at least I should be able to submit... something.
Your game looks super cool, @jfrisby I'm looking forward to checking it out

VampireWombat

I think something is conspiring against me. I had a stomach bug yesterday and didn't get anything done. And lost power for awhile this morning.
Hopefully nothing else will go wrong and I'll be able to make something playable. Definitely won't be a great game. A big part that will determine the quality is whether or not I can come up with a better start to the game.

VampireWombat

I just realized that with the time change tomorrow that I have no clue when the deadline will be. Hopefully I'll get it right.

Also, I'm considering confining walkable areas so I only need up and down walk cycles. It depends on how much I get done in the next couple of hours.

Good luck to anyone else still working on their game.

Aye. I spent most of Friday arguing with some folks over whether or not the Earth is flat. And since Saturday is my day of rest and didn't do any work yesterday, I too am in the same boat. Godspeed my friend! Let's see who finishes first, lol

That argument is silly and easily. It depends if you're using a map or a globe. The earth is malleable and changes shape to represent whatever representative object the most people that day have looked at.
Spoiler
Of course I don't believe that. I'm just joking and have absolutely no interest in arguing with anyone about the shape of anything more important than cookies or cakes.

I would say that depends whose timezone is closest to GMT.Since the deadline is only 5:59 pm for me (assuming what I looked up is right), I most likely will be submitting within 30 minutes of the deadline.
