Oh, forgot my votes!

Best Story: Sane Co.
Best use of Syntax: Sane Co.  (can I give an extra point for using "> Speak esparanto to deranged goldfish and tell him to hit errant entomologist with his tail."?  No?  Pity...)
Funniest Entry: Ekeko (mainly for his use of archaic English  ;D)

I'm almost sorry to vote for the same person in 2 categories as I really enjoyed other entries, but I'm sticking with my gut feeling.

Ekeko

Thou shall receive Ye Flask for thy generous compliment  ;D

Sane Co.

Ponch

Best Story: Bogdan
Best use of Syntax: Armageddon (his story reminds me of why I don't miss the text parser)

So, the final results...

THE GLORIOUS WINNER!

Ponch - 8

THE VALIANT RUNNERS-UP!

Sane. Co - 4
Bogdan - 4

THE ELEGANT THIRD-PLACED ENTRANTS!
Ekeko - 3
FSi++ - 3

THE SUPERB BUT UNDER-APPRECIATED 4TH PLACED ENTRANT!

Armageddon - 2

I felt bad for Armageddon as I really enjoyed his entry and he just missed out on a trophy, so I made this one so he doesn't feel left out:

He's.... erm... trapped in an ice(y?) crystal, or time capsule, or something.  If you look very, very closely, he's wearing a T-shirt which says "I entered the Fortnightly Writing Competition on the AGS Forums, and all I got was this lousy trophy".

Some fine entries here, and many a fatal syntax error.  Rejoice in the joyously awful cheesiness of your trophies!

Well Ponch, you are our victor!  Over to you for the next one.

Dualnames

Congrats Ponch, now you've matched my winnings, and we're in the tie with 4 wins. BUT THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.

Joke aside, I can't write shit anymore.  ;)
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Ponch

Hooray! A winner is me!

Thanks for the votes, everyone. It was money well spent. Give me a day or two to get a new theme together and we'll do this again.  :)

Sane Co.

Just a simple question, how do I put the trophy in my signature?

Ponch

Go to "Profile" (at the top of the page) and then "Forum Profile Information" (it's in the bar to the left of that screen). In the box marked "Signature" enter this image code.

Code: ags

Of course, you may want to find your own image host rather than use the Captain's bandwidth. I don't know if he wants to keep that image up forever.

Hope that helps.

I'm not too worried about the bandwidth, but you might want to host it yourself so you don't have such a hideously long URL!

Sane Co.

Another question, how do I host and find the image when I do that?

There are lots of image hosts around. I think our own Peder Johnson offers file hosting. Once you have the image uploaded somewhere, just change the url link in the code I posted above to point to the place where you uploaded the file.

Peder, in fact, offers everything hosting and is quite awesome. I think you should contact him :D otherwise, there are plenty of freebie image hosting services, like Imgur or Tinypic or (ugh) photobucket.
