In-game lighting problem... Gamma adjustment?

Hi. I started making a game with a slightly older AGS version a while back, and mostly abandoned it, but have since decided to do some more to it (it's of the now-cancelled adult swim show Home Movies... the dvd's came out and i'm inspired to do more to it now). I reinstalled AGS... but now, for some reason, the lighting in my game is very strong. I have a few rooms with deliberately darker lighting, but even there the GUIs are still way too bright. Thus, i'm sure it's a gamma sort of thing (also considering the fact that the graphics are the correct brightness within the editor). Now, i'll note that it's a newer version of AGS... and i'm aware that i could revert back to the older version and see if it fixes the problem, but i would like to keep using this one if anyone knows a solution... thanks in advance. ;D

Hmm, as far as I know there is no gamma correction option in AGS. Strange that it's ok in the editor.

What AGS version did you formerly use?
What AGS version are you using now?
What color depth is your game in?
Is it only GUIs or also backgrounds and sprites that seem brighter in the game?
What if you run the game in a window instead of full screen? (the gamma can be set via video card drivers, maybe it's set to a different higher value for full screen applications?)

Now using AGS 2.62...
I don't remember what i used to use, but i know it was 2.xx...
16-bit color...
The whole thing is brighter, GUIs, sprites, backgrounds...
Let me see about running in a window...

AHH! Good suggestion. I'm gonna reduce the full-screen gamma. I must have made it brighter for another game in between spells of using AGS. Thanks a bunch.

Remember that when in high-color mode AGS will often display the graphics brighter than what you expect. I don't know why, but there you go. I had a picture which was rather dark even in my paint program, and also in the editor, but when I ran the game, I could see ALL the details in the picture.
