Have a good long read of the AGS manual and try to figure some things out by yourself.

Matti

Look up "run-script".

This function lets you handle everything that should happen during a conversation.

Finally- wow, matti left you waiting for almost twenty minutes here! Unthinkable!

Metroid, please, reconsider your tone, just a little. I am no moderator, and I do not wish to sound patronising, but really, shouting demands isn't going to get you a reputation.

Delete if considered offensive.

ok i still need help... that comment about the Run-script didn't help(but thanks for the suggestion!) All I need is for another character to walk in or just appear during the conversation.

In that case, use character.ChangeRoom and character.Move.

ChangeRoom allows you to move any character to any room.
Move allows you to make him walk around on the screen.

You can even use ChangeRoom to set a character to a position outside the room,
and make him "walk in" then.

densming

The Move function is for objects; for characters, you can use the Walk function to have the character walk to a specific point.

Dualnames

Moreover, Move simply (as stated in the manual) just moves the character sprite to the desired position without animating(playing the walk view) , while walk(as you can understand) moves the sprite by playing the walk view, thus creating the illusion that the character is really walking there.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Ghost

Yes, sorry. I made a mistake.
