Title: Creative Adventure Toolkit
Post by: on Sat 06/03/2004 18:43:58
I don't know if anyone remembers me, the last time I posted here was probably over a year ago. At any rate, AGS didn't work out for me and I'm now attempting to create a text-adventure with the Creative Adventure Toolkit. I've searched all over for a forum similar to this, but couldn't find one for text adventures. I've heard that rec.arts.int-fiction is supposed to be a good site, but I've never used Usenet type sites before and I can't log on when I try. Does anyone know a website where I could post questions about it, or better yet, does anyone here use CAT?

Hi Noman,

Usenet isn't a website like this one, Usenet is a specific protocol like E-Mail, and you need a specific program to make use of it. - Outlook Express understands Usenet, just setup a "newsgroup" (Under which name usenet is also known) account.

While looking a bit around, I did however find a website (A Yahoo group) which you can use to discuss CAT: http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/catventure/

Regards,
Martin.

Isn't  "Yahoo Groups"  just a web wrapper for usenet?

Hi RickJ,

Nope, YahooGroups doesn't use Usenet... Maybe you're thinking of Google-Groups which true enough provides webaccess to all of usenet.

Thanks a lot! And best of luck to everyone better with AGS than me! I've learned some programming since then and I still have no idea what was up with my old attempts!
