I'm quite new to creating flash and a started a blank game, the mouses do not work. I have created my first room and several interactions for hotspots; none of the hotspots work. He won't look or interact with anything. How can i fix this?

Is this an AGS question or a Macromedia Flash question?

What tutorials have you been following, for all new people to AGS must start out with a tutorial. We strongly suggest you read over the manual, and get used to functions, they could come in handy, but for now, perhaps just stick to the interaction editor, but before you jump in to scripting, read over the manual. Almost every question can be answered there first. Then searching the forums would come next.Ã,

Now, as I was saying, reading the manual, in there, there is a very handy tutorial that the creator of AGS made to go along with it. You can select it from the contents tab and then selecting the "Tutorial" section along the selection tree.

If you're new, do not create a blank game but rather use the 'basic' template. It has a visible mouse cursor, for instance.

I already followed the turitorial for a basic template but I wanted to do a game by myself, the character will not move and will not interact with anythin even though I used the interaction editor what should I do I have made walkable areas and alot of the views could it be cause I didn't finish all the walking frames ???

yes, you need to have at least 4 frames in each walking view

is your character placed on a walkable area, and is that walkable area more than 4 pixels wide, hopefully something more like 30 pixels. have you selected "this is the main character" in the character pane?

fine, if your game is pretty small, in your opinion, why dont you zip it up and upload it for us to check out what the problem would be. im sure we'll get to the bottom of the problem in no time.

it's not even a game just an expiriment its real shitty and I don't know whats wrong I think the room isn't working because I tried setting the charcter to invisible and he was still there

a) you don't need to quote the person right above you, especially their whole text. thats been going on with a couple people on the boards lately.

b) if you've selected in the room settings that 'player character invisible' and he is still showing up, then i would have to venture the guess that that person really isnt your player character, as set in the character panel.

other than that, i dont think we can help you without any more information, or an upload of the game. you would probably see that it would be better to upload the game, so we can fix this for you for later, cause you dont want this to happen if you try to make a new game. actually, thats something you should try first. try and make a new game, and rework the steps. see what happens. if it happens again, then upload us one of the games, and we'll fix it lickity-split
