Mods, there's still a spare seat, so if you want to ride with us, that's cool. Not sure what the cost would be, but someone will. We're leaving Milan in the morning of the 31st, as far as I know. Will you be there for then?

Maybe man. If you're all around on the 31st that would be sweet. But I don't want to interfere with the "we" crowd. So I'll let you know soon, need to check all the options and flights again.

Grundy: Cheers, sounds good.

Creed Malay

By "we" I just mean "the people in the van thing". Be cool, man! :)

Just wondering if we should bring our own linnen, or if it's included in the rent.

I didn't have that much to complain about the linnen. I can't remember if I had used what was provided or used my own - since I would go on tour after Mittens Vice Edition, I'd already brought my own - you're expected to have your own in hostels. But I think I used the mansion's linnen, and I didn't have much to complain, except for a snorer in my room :o. But I won't blame that on the linnen. Besides, the snorer was good company when awake.

Fear npt, I'm nogt complaining too much, I was only joking. And besides, I don't think it was you.
I hope I haven't insulted you into wanting to NOT bunk with me anymore?

AGA

It was almost certainly me, since I'm known for my snoring. Don't worry though, this year only my girlfriend will have to endure it, and she should be used to it by now.

Oh great. You used the mansion linens even though you had brought your own, and I ended up sleeping under a curtain because there weren't enough.  :-\

(No hard feelings though!)

Chrille did you perchance find a price for the train Milan - Arezzo?

Chrille

It seems the trains that leave every hour are about 57â,¬ one way (unless you want to go first class, which is more expensive). There's one train on the way down that leaves quite early at 6.50, but it's only 35â,¬ so it might be worth it.

Thank you Chrilleburgh, is there any easy way of finding this info? I may have to go from Pisa to Arezzo. But hopefully Milan so there's a 50/50 chance I will ride with you or the CJrew. I may have to street it up in Milan for one night but under plenty of influence that won't be a problem. Walk to the villa  8) That 35 euro train is tempting, is there a return price? Muchos pleurghias :)

Chrille

Oh yeah, I forgot to include the link (http://www.trenitalia.com/en).

I should be more worried about finding details about my home journey. I can't fully relax about this trip until I know what trains/buses to take on the way back. I might just leave on friday evening to make sure I'll be in Milan on time on the 7th.

Also, is anyone planning on bringing a laptop this year? I might just have something for this year's show and tell.

Well, actually, now that you mention it, it was indeed you, and I only heard you one time, wasn't too upset about it though, you sounded quite modest. I just tagged it (like your girlfriend, I presume) as cute, and ignored it from then on. (OK, tried to ignore it) You weren't as bad as the other bloke I once heard in the hostel in Niagara, NY, he snored violently and I couldn't catch sleep for a while, oh well, I woke the poor sod who'd missed the taxi to catch his flight home, he slept too soundly.

The stories you get from vacationing with people who snore, will keep you amused for years on end. In that sense, I suppose I ought to be grateful to you snorers!

So, check-in at the villa is on 31. July between 5PM and 8PM. They might not let us in any earlier than that, and someone needs to be there by 8PM with money for the deposit and cleaning charges (almost 2000 EUR all told).

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it by 8 (my plane only lands in Milan at 5:45). Is anyone else confident they'll be at the villa by that time who has deep enough pockets to put up the deposit/cleaning?

AGA

We can be there by then if necessary. As for the deposit, I'm not sure. That may depend on my carmates' finances.

Cheers, blood-e hell... 115 euros for a return ticket from Milan to Arezzo. I could go stay with Papa Feurstein in NY for cheaper than this Italy shizzle :p

AGA

It'd probably cost you 3x as much to go the same distance in the UK though. It's like £9000 to go from here to London. And I'm only exaggerating slightly.
