Title: Fan games ?
Post by: potexto on Mon 05/03/2012 17:09:26
Hello,

I discovered the Maniac Mansion Mania project, wich are fan games made in the world of Maniac Mansion, and I think it is a great idea. Does this exist for another franchise (Sam & max, Day of the tentacle, monkey island ?....)

PS : Sorry for my bad english

Sure, you may be interested in Arjon's comprehensive list of fan games, lots of franchises are covered:

What do you mean by "This"? Do you mean:
a) Fangames in general
b) A series of fangames using shared assets where everyone can contribute and add their own chapter
c) A series of original games using shared assets where everyone can contribute

If you mean A, then yes, check Arj0n's list.

If you mean B, then no, I don't believe there's a similar project going on, or if there's is, it's in a foreign language and/or I haven't heard about it.

If you mean C, then yes, there is Reality On The Norm.

What about games that are based on other licensed franchises that aren't originally games? IE Somebody makes a game about "Gilligan's Island" Or McGuyver or Lost or Futurama or other popular shows, movies, cartoons? Has anybody compiled a list of those?

There is a Stargate Adventure Game in the AGS Database which is pretty good and enjoyable. But I don't know about a list, but this thread is inspiring ;)
