Yahtzee has been working his hands off at AGS and has produced a demo of his next game!

It is on the home page.

What do you think of it?
IMO it is great idea and any game of Yahtzee's is worth a try.

"Apparently, yes. And it was easier than I thought, so I quickly rustled up an engine. When I was happy with it, I started making a game. The game is entitled 1213, pronounced Twelve Thirteen, and it tells the story of an amnesiac who escapes from the cell in which he has remained for as long as he can remember to quest for the answers he seeks."

Hmmm...

Did you also catch the bit about CJ sucking many buttocks just previous to it? Apparently, our friendly neighborhood Yahtzee wanted to work on a game on Christmas day...

B...But he doesn't come to this neighborhood anymore.

Great stuff!

I have been playing a lot of Prince of Persia lately (downloaded a SNES emulator - the SNES version was awesome!) and was wondering if something like that'd be possible in AGS.

The keyboard responses were a little slow ... like crouching when the camera points at you.  I found myself pushing the button in time, but the delay caused me to miss and the door would close.

Also, an option to run/sneak (like Prince of Persia) would be cool.  I do like how you can't fall off ledges ... that was always stupid to me (in PoP).

Looking forward to the full game!

Awesome, once again. I am sure this is gonna be just another amazing game coming from his hands.

I absolutely loved the details, the controls, everything.

Can't wait to play this one through in a day-and-night session with a friend like I did with 5 and 7 days and galaxy of fantabolous wonderment.

Yeah, I enjoyed Prince of Persia and this one had a very similiar feel in it. The animations were awesome and the music very atmospheric. I simply love it.

Just wait, Darth...I promise an oldskool platform extravaganza (when/if CJ implements more loops)!

Great stuff!
Reminds me in "Another World".
Okay, I never played "Another World", but I read about it.

...whatever, I'm looking forward for the full version!Ã,  :o

ProgZmax - I thought it had a very similar story to another recent AGS game ^_^

It looks like it has the potential to be a good game, i'd think it would work better if it had more free flow to it, rather than having to stop to jump etc... if you could just press space while moving and he does a running jum or something, i think that would work better than standing still, then press space.
When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.

Great stuff? ??? The game was very mechanical and stiff, starting with a boring tutorial, mimicking the scene from ProgZMax's Mind's Eye intro. Not to mention that it's pretty much a photocopy of Prince of Persia...

Well, isn't that a reason enough for it to be great? For an AGS game that is...

Just wanted you to know that Yahtzee has just informed me that EPISODE 1 is now available!! Awesome!! Get playing :D

PS - thanks for making me aware of the demo, I had a little go and it was great! So onto better things now, like episode 1 :)

Oh, you're just jealously!

This game is  typical Yahtzee. Disturbed people, an unknown enemy and LOTS of blood mark out a pretty darn tense game. This game echoes Yahtzee's 5 day's series, and capitalises on it. Think 5-days added to Prince of Persia and then blitzed in a food blender.

I'd like to comment on the plot, but...

Spoiler
I'm up to the bit when your in the gymnasium and picking up the item... I "freaked out" as my brother put it when the guy's head appears on the tv and shut off the game... I'm a wimp...  I'm convinced that the mutated guy is going to jump out from behind the sofa at ANY minute!

KAAAAAHHHHHHNNNNN!!!!!

Um...

I mean....

YAHTZEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I have been wanting to make a game like Out of This World (why do people keep calling it "another world?") for years, but I could never find an engine that could do it up right. Now Yahtzee takes and uses AGS to do it, of all things! Curse you and your glory, Yahtz, and you aren't even on these forums anymore! So I can't send you a PM that says

*Esper kicks you OMGLOLROFL!!11!!!1

Another World was the European release title.  Yahtzee's rendition isn't very true to the gameplay in Flashback or OotW, really (if you press a key in the demo you can see he's relying almost entirely on regions for everything and the jumping is fiddly and unnatural).  Go code it yourself, Esper.  It's not that difficult in AGS to make a basic platformer.
