I've still got the original boxes from Kings Quest 1 to 4, Space Quest 2, Colonels Bequest, QFG2, plus a few others, but of course I didn't look after them so some of it is missing.

But recently I've been inspired to collect all the original versions (ie boxed) of Sierra's AGI and SCI games. I've had a bit of a look on ebay, and most are either CD-ROM collections (not interested) or fakes.

Anyway, if you're a collector, where do you find them?

Armageddon

I have the original Full Throttle, Sam and Max, and DOTT boxes. I also have the original Grim Fandango box which I put on display because it's awesome! I also collect old games in general I bought System Shock 2 in the original plastic wrap. I have a semi-broken No One Lives Forever which still won't run on my PC. I have MDK2 and XIII not so old games but they were defiantly gems. I also have the ORIGINAL DOTT HINT BOOK! I love this thing, it's beautiful, every adventure game should have a booklet like this. I guess that's about it. I of course have all the Half-Life games on their original disks and boxes, which were huge at the time. :)

AGA

I've got quite a few originals, although very few of them are from Sierra. I got pretty much all of them from eBay.  Quite often things like this will be very expensive - LucasArts games especially - but if you pay enough attention you will find bargains all the time. AGI and earlier SCI are quite hard to find though, because they're so old.

Most of my Sierra floppy games were bought back in the day, but I've been lucky to find the odd LSL2 or SQ2 at flea markets, charity shops and bargain bins. One thing you may want to consider is that the floppies most likely are corrupted by now, so if you're mainly interested in the boxes and manuals anyway you might as well look for Mac, Amiga and Atari ST versions of the games instead of just targeting the PC version. My copy of Indy3 is a Mac version, but the box contents are the same and any abandonware site has it if I ever want to play it (not like I even have a 3.5 drive in any of my current computers :)).

Also, contact other collectors and see if they want to trade. I got my beautiful copy of KQ5 from GhostLady as thanks for helping her out with some scripting. A lot of serious collectors have multiple copies of each game, and while they may not be flogging their extra copies on eBay they may be willing to let go of them in exchange for a title they don't have.

Edit: The following games were found at flea markets and car boot sales: KQ2, LSL2, Heart of China, Torin's Passage, PQ SWAT, Indy 3, Full Throttle, X-Files, Blackout (very cool Danish cd-rom game), Titanic, and The Riddle of Master Lu. A few of the games like SQ2, Sanitarium, and Indy and the Infernal Machine were bought new, still in shrinkwrap after more than a decade, and found in various bargain bins.

Aww, I actually got Broken Sword: SotT in like a 7 games pack thing, along with Magic Carpet and some other stuff, it was affordable but I didn't know how to play the games (didn't understand) that came in the package (except BS1), but alas that also meant no special box.
I have BAT2 on 7 discs in original box (manual and all) and I have Rebel assault 2 white edition, Grim Fandango, Blade runner, Need for speed 2 SE and some other stuff, lots of it got lost as years passed and a lot if ain't adventure games.
I don't want the world, I just want your half

I mostly only collect console games atm Sega Master System.
But I HAVE bought several adventure games online just for the sake of having the box!

I will probably try and get some more too sometime in the future.
