i put a vid in the game and when i play it, its all discolored and green/purplish. i have otha videos in the game but they play fine... wut causes this and how can i fix it...

Is it a FLC or an AVI? Is your game 256-color or hi-color?

AGS just uses Media Player to play the videos, and leaves all the conversions up to it.

We gonna need a fraggin' pile of codecs to play all the new vid containing games ;D
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

This has been answered quite a few times actually, odd that it doesn't have a sticky.

I'm assuming you're using a DivX encoded video for this, and in that lies your answer. DivX uses a 24 bit colour depth for video encoding and playback. When playing back a video at 16bit colour depth, you either end up with a pastel like image or psychadellic colours, neither of which are particularly nice. This is mostly due to the DivX's lack of decent on-the-fly colour reduction and there's probably not a lot that can be done to fix it.

Try using a different codec or video format until you find one that works good for you.
