Hi guys!

I'd like to copy QFG 4 fight system to AGS.
For those who haven't played - It's 1 on 1 fight against computer controlled opponent.
Your character is controlled by mouse. He can walk (one step forward or backwards by clicking in front or behind the character),
jump (by clicking above the character), crouch or parry (by clicking on appropriate area of him), cast spells (by clicking on a spell)
or stab and slash (by clicking on the opponent, if he is close enough).

Example here at 1:45

My AGS skills are really elemental, but I'd very much like to figure it out.
I have seen very cool fight engine done by guys who made QFG2 remake, which proves me it can be done.

I'd like to ask, If anyone would be so kind to give any suggestion or tutorials, that could help me. Something like "I learnt this and that this way, this tutorial is relevant" etc.

Thanks a lot!
:)

The thing is, if you start off learning the basics of AGS just like everyone else, you'll eventually realize how this system can be done yourself.
There's no magic formula, it's just some semi-advanced scripting. Learn to walk, then run.

Look at it this way: we could give you a few pointers which would be essentially useless since you're lacking the basics.
Or we could write several pages of explanations and code. This will allow you to put this in your game but it won't help you understand any of it, and as soon as you hit a snag, you'd be back here, asking for more help.

It is perfectly possible to pull this off in AGS, and not even that complex. You'll get there.

Good point. I still have this "magic formula" addiction in some ways :D I'll do my own mistakes. Thanks!
