I was very disappointed in Gaea Fallen. This author had created several RPGs with wonderful graphics and great puzzles which unfortunately are not mouse compatible. I was so excited to see her new game used AGS and would work with the mouse, only to find that the graphics are muddy and uninspired and the screens are laid out in such a way as to make movement through the game cumbersome.

AGS would be a perfect platform had she used the same graphics and lay outs from the other games - what a shame :(

Perhaps she will redo the game in her usual style. It would be an instant hit !!

Generally, a decent effort BUT:
- declared as 320x200 it runs only at 640x400, and the installer won't work on XP. If it was meant 640x400, the graphics is definitely a bit pixelated.
- why on Earth was the final release compiled in DEBUG MODE?? Every engine-internal debugging shortcut works: you can teleport to any room and give yourself all items etc. A bit of attention wont harm :)

The game had a promising start. The story and all. And the part about Aunt Mildred was a funny touch.

That said, the gameplay really got on my nerves. The screens weren't clear in their indication of direction; you get confronted with ambiguous spaces, don't know if you can go beyond or is it a dead end. And when she walks so slowly.. it's really painful. The items that you have to pick up are sometimes weird pixels on the floor or wall..

I know this being an indie game, I should complain about the graphics. But heck. The giantic sprite skirt of Eve was very irritating. The colors sucked. Bad mix of illustrated and photo elements. When I reached the Nymph Queen and saw the mannequin nymphs above her head, I laughed out loud... And it was supposed to be a magical palace. Gosh. Reality on the Norm has better graphic and color sense.

I found this game to be a bit of a mixed bag. I did like it on the whole, but there were a few things that did bother me about it, most of all, getting stuck at one point without any way to fix the situation, apparently. On top of that, there was the fact that I had to pick up some items a couple of seperate times (and thus had to make the trip to get there), which seemed unnecessary, especially since I had a pretty good idea that's what I was going to have to do. Just let me take two helpings of the item while I'm there!...

(and the main character was a touch slow, too...)

On the other hand, there was a lot of good here, too. The graphics were very nice for some locations; the fantasy world seemed to be a fairly interesting one and was populated with some cute characters; and I enjoyed some of the puzzles -- I DO wish, though, that some of the magic mixing kinds of puzzles had a little more to them.

Nevertheless, it was a good effort put forward to develop a fantasy world, which you've got to appreciate. If the author would make another game set in the same world (with different locations and a new story), I know that I'd give it a spin.

Nice game, really unique. It's kinda slow paced (how she walks and all that), but the fantasy theme is pretty interesting. And there's a talking rabbit!
