The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Masked is a room-escape game infused with a dark, mysterious and ambiguous story. What is the cracked, crumbling room in which you find yourself? Who is the woman behind the mask? What is your history? And how, if at all, can you escape?

AGS Panel Review

"An "Escape the Room" adventure, with some solid writing, and an oppressively dark atmosphere."

Realize I'm replying to a fairly old comment here but: FlyingMandarine, Sepulchre was actually written by me, not Lewis. :) Lewis developed Sepulchre but I wrote it. Sepulchre's more ambiguous cos it's just part of a story, there's more coming (in a couple months actually).

Some pretty good writing and a decent atmosphere, but I'm not so fond of what I felt was an unnecessarily ambiguous story along with an abrupt ending. In the end, you can sort of put the pieces together, but I would have rather had it be explicit (I do feel the same way about Sepulchre, actually, which is another work from the same author).

Still, quite recommended, for it managed to pull me in right from the start and up until the end.

This is amazing!!! The only problem is that it is VERY short. I will love to see more games like this.

It was a nice short game. An original spin to the escape the room genre.

To the people complaining about the plot not being served on a plate, try using your imagination. The game gives more than enough clues to understand what's going and what happened, even before you finish the game.

I enjoyed the game although it would have better to have a little more of the story and to see a little more about what happens after you shoot the gun.

Loved it! Up until now room escape games were slightly boring for me, but adding a story and plot to it added something special. It did a great job at getting me interested.

Sorry, but there were too many questions about the plot to even get a general feeling of the game. You should have fleshed out the story much more, if there was one. The animations were good, the rest was very average.
